Solving the "tanasinn.vip" problem (13)

https://tanasinn.info/ is dead but https://tanasinn.vip/ isn't solving the problem in a satisfying way. How do we solve the problem?

"let's exactly copy tanasinn.info as it was and pick up where we left off!"

This is the wrong solution -- it's much better to keep a time capsule of the way things were and to start a new wiki from scratch, especially if we're going to be using Dokuwiki. Am I wrong? It's hard to tell how many people even want to keep working on Tanasinn or especially work as a curator -- 6 months after https://Tanasinn.vip was launched, exactly two people have worked on it, and one person is unable to make a feasible solution for "a zombie of Tanasinn" , and the other (who has done a majority of the editing and OC work on the new site) is unwilling to solve "the problem" in what they feel is "the wrong way" to do it.

Considering that it has been over a year now since halcy shut down tanasinn.info, and even longer since he announced his intentions, and no one bothered taking action over it immediately, I'm assuming that modern day DQN simply lacks interest in wikis.
The utterly impotent response over tanasinn.info shutting down almost astounds me. If the fate of the original received such an apathetic response, I don't see a new wiki starting from scratch faring any better. There might simply be no one left who cares.

Also, why Dokuwiki? Most of the old articles were written with Mediawiki in mind. There's no one left willing to write new articles, why would there be anyone willing to take the time to fix hundreds of old ones to work on new software? And if we start from scratch, why not go the full way and use something a bit more unique than either of those scripts? At least then it will be a dead wiki with slightly unique software choice.

>>6 people in general aren't that interested in producing content, meaning those of us who do are kind of psycho. So on most wikis the attitude is generally a cope sort of patience; an irrational optimism that some autist will get it done eventually.

Just put the things that you'd want to see regularly updated on a new wiki, reference the archived .info as necessary. The "golden era" as it was came about not because people wanted to replicate a bygone better day.

I agree. Clinging too much to the past doesn't help build anything useful, you just end up looking like that Russian pest we all loathe (or previous cringelords like Jkid4). We have an archive already on Halcy's site; we could just make a frozen mediawiki instance @ https://archive.tanasinn.vip/ and let the new dokuwiki pick up where the last one left off. People can just manually import articles that they think need to be repeated.

The two unique things about the Wiki that people will still probably care about are the Kopipe archive and SJIS related stuff, and the current situation with kopipe/sjis is just .. not working, lol

I'm most interested in all the DQN ELECTRONICS info and history

We are the ironic niggers and we shut down tanasinn and made meltingwax cry and shit himself to death lololol
