Whoever came up with the demented trend of transparent PC cases is a criminal to cable management.
I bought myself a new prebuilt PC (to save on GPU cost) a while back with one of those cases and changing anything is a mild inconvenience. All the cables are routed around back to the side that isn't glass and then zip tied together into one, impossible to follow mass.
In contrast, the last PC I owned (also a prebuilt, that time out of laziness) had a nice, non-glass case and all the wires were neatly followable. When you're not constrained to hiding all the wires around back to make the insides look "presentable" from the glass side you can actually group things together in a meaningful way.
I'd redo all the wiring but I simply am too lazy. Someone remind me 2000 days from now.

671 Name: ((●)トェェェイ(●)) : 1993-09-10377 14:50

>>668 why does "transparent case" mean "hiding wires"?
My PC has a transparent case, because it looks cool. It doesn't change my cable management (which is: cleanly separated & labelled but out of air flow zones).

its weird how these days you don't really save much if any at all money by building your own PC, hell i bought a prebuilt off amazon of all places and went and priced the parts myself and building it would've saved me like, $20, before figuring in shipping costs

Yeah there's been a lot of price gouging going on at distribution level, so I figure OEMs who are sourcing directly from manufacturers are getting the better deal here. Prices may go down a bit by the end of the year to capitalize on the desperate people who have waited three years to update their PCs to accomodate for next-gen games, but they will never go back to normal unless some authority steps in. They new bar has been set.

it's a tool, whose intended purpose is to maim and kill people and animals, there's a word for tools like that and the word is "weapon". the whole "range toy" thing divorces people from the idea that this is not in fact a toy but a tool designed for inflicting bodily harm on others. americans are dumb.

Facilitating a natural right of self-defense
Participating in law enforcement
Enabling the people to organize a militia system
Suppressing insurrection
Gun culture is important in certain states
Gunsmithing and cloning industries are important

personally i believe dqn should not have an archive. time is weirder here. give me all 3000+ threads in one place thank you very much.

757 Name: ((●)トェェェイ(●)) : 1993-09-10386 21:25

i agree, also every single thread in the history of dqn together is probably like 500mb of text at most so it's not like having them separate is a huge performance boost

758 Name: ((●)トェェェイ(●)) : 1993-09-10386 21:27

the entire king james bible is about 5mb of plaintext

759 Name: ((●)トェェェイ(●)) : 1993-09-10386 22:39

Adding all the filesizes from the subbacks.html gets me 175MB, which is still a lot! But doesn't account for the markup and metadata.

I think /prog/'s database dump was above the gigabyte, but then again it was by far the biggest w4ch board.

I'm pretty sure Kareha starts suffering from serious performance issues past a certain number of threads.

Start with short books you can read in one sitting, its not like people are born with the ability to just sit down and tear into a doorstopper
