HUGE PORTIONS! D: (12)

I recently moved to the U.S. and I am having problems finding restaurants that sell food at normal, human-sized portions! When I order a burger at Chilis or Chellos or Applebees or any of those types of restaurants, I always end up with this MONSTER MEAT in front of me that I can not possibly finish. I swear these burgers are bigger than the size of my handspan when its outstretched! How can anyone possible EAT THAT??

Even when I order a salad and ask for the "lunch" size instead of the "dinner" size, it's enough to feed a family or three or four!

Are there any restaurants in the the CT/RI/MA area that are not like this, or should I just ask them to make my food at about half-size? Because I feel guilty always leaving so much of it uneaten, but I simply cannot EAT THAT MUCH FOOD!

There is nowhere in the area that sells Japanese food. There are Chinese buffets but that's totally different, right? Though maybe buffets are the way to go because you choose your own portions...but they are expensive. Hmm.

Just do what I do when you get too much food to finish: Take the leftovers home and eat them later.

Yeah, any average restaurant will wrap up leftover food to take home if you ask. I dunno about the fancy expensive eateries. With your apetite, it sounds like you could get two or three meals out of one serving! :D

Try causing a scene...that always seems to help...or will get you banned for life...same thing, if you think about it

Dunno if central CT is in your range, but we have some decent japanese food places (Ginza's in Bloomfield and Ming Hung Asian Bistro in Glastonbury have good sushi... by my provencial standards, anyway). We also have Wood n' Tap, which serves these bitty bar burgers... usually sixes though. BTW, there's also A Dong supermarket in West Hartford that sells imported Asian food for cheap, but mostly Chinese and Southeast Asian.
