Why the fuck can't english speakers get games like this (41)

Or import Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan!, you bastards.

Watch this flash demo.
http://www.nintendo.co.jp/ds/aosj/175r/index.html
or one of these videos http://media.ds.ign.com/media/746/746980/vids_1.html
The intro is long and kinda boring when you don't understand the language, but when the gameplay kicked in I had a touchscreen epiphany that whacked my brain from my skull like a scene from Dokuro-chan.

For years I've stuck to PC gaming and console emulation, but this thing has singlehandedly convinced me to get a DS and import the game. (and maybe get wario ware and nintendogs too :3)

I don't see the appeal of that particular game but I know of some awesome games that never found their way out of Japan, officially. Secret of Mana 2 comes to mind...

Blessed be all ROMhackers & fan translators!

Oh come on, don't fag up the thread with bloody RPGs. We're talking about fun games in here!

They're gonna put this in the American market me thinks.

A matsuri, yes, but what's with the guys in black? I mean, do they have an actual Japanese purpose thing? I get the bit about 'how do I hits number' but I wonder what it's all about? o_O

They're old-school badasses!

I just got my DS awhile back, and I have been LOVING this game. It's fun going through the different difficulties and trying to improve. Even though it gets really hard sometimes, I just take a breather and try again. My favorite stage is the egypt one.

It would be pretty awesome if this actually made it out in english, but I'm afraid they'd change all of the music and stuff. But who knows? I'd definitely buy a US version anyways, just to support these types of games.

They're just... manly cheerleaders. They show up when people in town scream 'OUENDAN!' for their help, and they shout and dance to lift their spirits, haha.

I'm still smarting over the fact that they never released Policenauts stateside, despite the fact that it was re-released in 2003. Policenauts is a 1994 prequel to Snatchers, both of which were created by Kojima Hideo, the creator of the Metal Gear series.

I'd love to get this game, but importing is too expensive where I'm from.
Unless I can find a place that's willing to undervalue the product.

supercard + superpass + 512mb CF card = lots of free DS games.

Just saying.

I heard from an inside source that several US companies were interested in publishing this, but Nintendo of Japan refused to sell the rights.

Wait a second, wait a second...

what is the point of this game?
I saw the demos and I don't get what's happening.
Is the point to use the stylus to hit the numbers at the exact right time?
I like it and all, it's just confusing.

It's great, too.

Just realized that Ouendan is from the same company who wrote Gitaroo-Man, which is an awesome PS2 game that you need to play.

Blame the American Game developers, they haven't come up with any kind of interface innovation in quite some time.

US companies are doing well on Windows platform.
Counter-Strike:Source is my favorite.
There are a range of great games available ONLY to English speakers.

People want what they can't have though :/

Un-fucking believable. We're actually getting it! Localized for the western market, but WE'RE GETTING IT!

I also spotted a mystery adventure that looks promising.

We are getting a game, but is sure isn't Osu!Tatakae!Ouendan!

It may have new stories, characters, and music, but the game mechanics are still the same. The soundtrack should be at least acceptable if the known song, Walkie Talkie Man by Steriogram is any indication.

The other preview on that site mentions Highway Star, which I assume is the Deep Purple song.
