Wii U, Vita or 3DS? (8)

Hey everyone

I've been thinking about getting a new console but I'm not sure about what console to buy. The new Xbox and Playstation are out of the question, most stuff that comes out on those consoles will come out on PC sooner or later and good PC parts aren't that expensive anymore if you look closely or just wait a little.

So I've been thinking about getting one of the consoles mentioned in the title.

I'm currently leaning a lot to the Wii U since you can play Wii games and games like SSB and Mario Kart are exclusive. Vita doesn't let you play PSP games instead you have to buy them in the store. Not that I had a PSP to begin with but still. The 3DS is region locked and I already have a NDS that is NOT region locked. While the Wii U is still region locked at the moment the pressure will hopefully get to Nintendo.

What do you think? What console have YOU got?!

It somewhat depends on the type of games you're looking for.

I have a 3DS, which has great stuff like Shin Megami Tensei 4, Ace Attorney 5/Dual Destinies, Etrian Odyssey, Virtue's Last Reward (also available on Vita), as well as classic Nintendo stuff like Super Mario 3D Land and Yoshi's Island 3D. The eShop kind of sucks, especially when it comes to virtual console releases.

The Vita has great games in the PSN store, like a wide selection of some of the best PS1 and PSP games available. Some of the regular games for Vita are quite good, especially with the Grim Fandango remake coming in the near future.

There's not that much I know about the Wii U since neither I nor anyone I know has one, but I think it looks quite promising. With some of the announcements at E3 this year, I think it's gonna be pretty sick. Not to mention, the eShop on the Wii U is much better than on the 3DS, especially the Virtual Console which has GBA and SNES unlike the 3DS, so you can get Earthbound and Mega Man Battle Network!

All three systems have Netflix, so if that's the kind of thing you're looking for, you have nothing to worry about.

So you can play a shitty game ported from the Wii downscaled in everyway?

The new 3DS is like a regular 3DS but on steroids. All the menus load faster. Games load faster. It even downloads faster.

I recommend everyone who still doesn't own any 3DS to get a new 3DS XL.

Don't forget Ambiibo compatibility and the new C-stick.
It's really more of a mobile, slightly stripped-down version of a gamecube if that's your thing.
