I'd certainly recommend you to give the Raidou games a try if you don't mind emulating. As for Kaneko, I highly doubt it, he seems to have taken a less hands-on position higher in the company. The series are now firmly in the hands of his protege Doi and Soejima and younger staffs. Even Katsura Hashino might no longer be involved in Persona and is working on his own project.

Same, I'm not completely sold on the art direction but I'm happy that the series is coming back to consoles.
