Water Warfare was the first WiiWare game I ever got and I fukkin loved it. This was at an age where my parents still weren't comfortable letting me play the "big boy" shooters like COD or Battlefield, so for that kid who really loved FPS gameplay it was great. Maybe I'll emulate it again someday. What are digital-only games that you played and loved, but you don't hear spoken about very often?
I really liked Trash Panic, which was (and is?) only available on PSN for PS3. Kind of like destructable-physics tetris.
>>2 Interesting... downloading the demo now...
I loved Tekken Revolution, the free-to-play digital-only Tekken on PS3, felt like a cut-down best of Tekken at the time
Ace Combat Infinity was great too, the same sort of deal. Apparently I put over 800 hours into that, but that includes plenty of time waiting on menus and in lobbies I reckon. Usually I only buy games when they're cheap, maybe years later, but I liked it so much that I paid for the deluxe edition of Ace Combat 7, but was a bit disappointed with it. The story mode was pretty good, but my favourite thing about Infinity was the sort of team assault multiplayer mode, where two teams race to destroy targets and waves of enemies - AC7 only has the dogfighting multiplayer modes, which I find always seem to mainly involve doing tight loops around another player doing tight loops, until someone makes a mistake and leaves themselves open for a shot or a teammate shoots the pursuer. Kinda boring. It also doesn't have my favourite plane from Infinity, the Delphinus one - it gave you the Ace Combat 3 HUD!!
The other thing about it, after playing hundreds of free hours against people online in Tekken Revolution and Ace Combat Infinity, it totally put me off PAYING for PlayStation Plus when I eventually got a PS4. I tried it once when I had a bunch of online-only trophies left to get, not worth it...
>>2 Hey, this is pretty fun, I went and bought it, thanks!
>>6 Glad you liked it. The VS mode is probably my favourite part
