I want to hear about some of your favourite cheats in games. It seems like less games these days have cheats included. When I was a boy, any time I got a game that had level select and invincibility and infinite ammo cheats, I would end up never playing the whole game properly... still lots of fun though!
I'll start with a classic, 5-year-old me felt like a boss opening the Level Select menu on Sonic 1! Then later the debug mode cheat blew my mind!
What are some of your favourites? Secret characters, strange modes, silly effects, etc.
Remember in Tekken 2 there were hidden first-person and second-person view modes? Something like holding L1+L2 when picking a character
I recently played Actua Soccer 3 on PS1 and it had some pretty fun hidden teams. As well as dream teams and teams of the game devs, there's like a cyborg team and a skeleton team that makes the stadium all dark and spooky when they play. The "TOP 50 BABES" teams are famous sexy ladies like Jordan, Courtney Cox, Angelina Jolie, and Cameron Diaz - Diaz is her Something About Mary character, the devs took the time to give her the spunky hair sticking up like in the movie!

Indie PS1 football game “Three Lions” (called “Golden Goal” in the US) also had a selection of dream teams and a dev team. Ocean Colour Scene's “Hundred Mile High City” was used as the game's theme song, and they also appeared as a playable team!
Remember the hidden level in Medal Of Honour: Undergound where you had to kill mad nazi puppets in a castle? It was easy with infinite health and ammo
On Revenge Of Shinobi on Mega Drive, you could get infinite shurikens by going to Options and setting Shurikens to 00, then wait a few seconds and it would magically turn into ∞
The first TOCA Touring Cars game on PS1 had a secret Tank car and a secret lava world level. I think I only ever “properly” finished a few races on that, but I had lots of fun driving backwards in the tank and eliminating all other racers
I recently bought NASCAR '99 on PS1, because I read that if you go into the first-person camera where you see the driver's hands on the steering wheel and hold SELECT, he does a little wave. I loaded it up and did that and it was great!
hell yeah dud playstation spiderman had a code for big head mode i had a blast playing that. also on a side note i loved the intro and different collectible costumes
>>9 I wonder how many games released have a big head mode? Hundreds... I always played with big head mode on WWF Attitude, Unreal Tournament (head gets bigger the more kills you get) and Actua Soccer 3, any game that had it haha
We had a demo of this PS1 rally game called Total Drivin'. Like all racing game demos, we'd always turn round at the start and just explore the track instead of finishing the race. We found that there were certain places you could hit the wall and bounce up onto the sides of the track, then drive about the countryside and fall off the edge of the world and stuff. Hours of fun! Years later I got the game for 50p, it turns out this was the way you actually unlocked new tracks, you could find a portal behind a certain road sign which took you to a bonus track.
It also had a quite interesting method of cheat entry - you had to tap R2 on the main menu to the beat of a certain melody, like “Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead” or ”Happy birthday to you” or “Scotland The Brave” to unlock bonus tracks
I always loved the npc weapons + riot cheat in the GTA games just for the chaos of it
Getting the ninja sword thing in R&C UYA was also the tightest shit
I still have the Spawn Hydra Jet cheat for GTA:SA burnt into my brain. After I 100%'d it I had hours of fun getting 6-star jet chases, then leading the other jets to crash into skyscrapers and stuff
It was pretty “cool” getting to play as Mix Master Mike in SSX Tricky - all you had to do was hold L1 + R1 at the title screen and then press X X right X X down X X left X X up!

Currently playing with massive shadows XD
Anyone ever play TOCA Touring Cars on PS1? It had some pretty good cheats. Most of the racing games I played in my life, I spent more time driving backwards crashing into people than trying to win - in TOCA there's a cheat for a tank with a working cannon, I used to drive backwards and shoot everyone else and win that way. If you flip an opponent's car they retire from the race!
The cheat: enter your name as CMGARAGE to unlock all cars
JHAMMO to unlock all tracks, including a mad lava bonus track
There were also cheats for cartoon mode, big driver hands, low gravity, extra camera views,
