I suddenly have an urge to look into cheap do it yourself raspberry pi handhelds. I also started to feel hatred for anything that relies on a fan for cooling, or for batteries that don't last more than two years and are impossible to replace, practically for anything that doesn't last long enough.

I think pen and paper is the cheapest I can get.

Apparently you can buy a decent one for 80$, here is the vid. This one is for 60$, but he mentions a better one at 11:33 for 80$.
