I've come to the realization that this place is really probably one of the best forums I've ever been on. It's just so good. I love you all. I really do.

It's funny - the older I become (am 21 at the moment), the less effort I exert in expressing anything relevant/important with the people I see on a daily-to-weekly basis. Though not entirely laconic on subjects I care nothing for (as a matter of social nicety, of course), I am allowing my naturally reclusive nature to overwhelm all aspects of what scarce interaction I have with the world.
So, I feel as if 4-ch fits me very well in that respect. We let the quality trickle as it may, unperturbed by what vast silence does oft fill the gaps between, as it does not disturb but rather comforts us; a reassurance of things to come.
I'm back, though.
4-ch is so slow that I often find threads that I made a long time ago bumped back to the top by some jerk. Being years ago, my opinion has since changed and I suddenly I am arguing with myself...

I went to 4ct today https://boards.4ct.org/b/ I spent a few hours there, some boards were pretty slow, some were new and interesting, some were utter shit. It was weird but it also felt new.
I sort of liked the feeling of being a newfag again.
Would you recommend any other chans or specific boards there?

That was iichan, during 4chan's six-week downtime in June 2004. The 4-ch.net domain was only registered in November 2004, several months after 4chan was resurrected.
https://archives.4-ch.net/general/kareha.pl/1100797477/ appears to be the oldest thread still preserved in any form. It seems like some others were lost to an error in Feb 2005, as Squeeks mentions in that thread.
4-ch's opening, however, does follow somewhat shortly after the ignoble death of world2ch, which was euthanized in May 2004 after several months of decline and never returned. (I think world4ch launched as a successor before 4-ch did, but I'm not sure exactly when, and it's dead now too.)
