EGroups, Geocities, Rocketmail...
Flickr noooo!!! You were so open, and so free :(
del.icio.us noooo!!! You were quasi-useful :(
i used to use rocketmail back in the day... but my account disappeared when yahoo took it over :(
I used to have a free Geocities email account - it got worse when Yahoo took over (no more forwarding) and later on they killed all free Geocities accounts.
Yeah, this sucks... I deleted my del.ico.us account and moved to Simpy, it's not as good, but should work.
Never really cared about Flickr, though.
They've also eaten up Upcoming.org which was really cool... at least they didn't butcher it or del.icio.us yet.
I forgot one-- they ate Launch.com, rebranded it, and never upgraded it to support Fx or OSX.

Heh. I still have about 5 or 6 CDs of Launch's pre-Yahoo cyber-multimedia music magazine dingus. They were free. The sole profit I made out of the dot-com thing.
Why do so many people seem to think that getting acquired is a good thing? I happened upon the weblog of the Flickr or deli.cio.us or something like that inventor, announcing that it had been sold to Yahoo, and all the comments were like "Congratulations!", and nobody seemed worried or disappointed at all. What's up with these people?
I used to use eGroups and Geocities long, long ago but had stopped by the time Yahoo swallowed them. Never used Rocketmail, deli.cio.us, or Flickr. >>3 What, I went to http://www.geocities.com/ and it still seems to be advertising free accounts; could you clarify?
