waah... I spent all afternoon watching densha otoko and not doing my homework. how am I going to get anything done with all this media on my drive to watch...

2 Name: Anonymous Addict : 2007-03-05 07:33 ID:8JpbA9if

Are you the guy from /b/?

3 Name: Anonymous Addict : 2007-03-05 07:33 ID:8JpbA9if

with the furry girlfriend?

4 Name: Anonymous Addict : 2007-03-05 08:26 ID:fdfWhQ7l

You do it, then you watch. It's rather hard though.

5 Name: Anonymous Addict : 2007-03-05 14:42 ID:dojehI2c

actually, yeah. I am the guy from /b/ with the furry girlfriend, though she's not my girfriend yet. I'm hoping to make it so.

as for the homework thing, maybe I should just drop out of school and get a job... it seems like all my friends have jobs anyway.

6 Name: Anonymous Addict : 2007-03-05 19:24 ID:OTWUOXhi

Please don't drop out, >>5, I promise it'll get better! Plus you'll get a better paying job if you graduate, and then you'll be able to afford all the Densha Otoko dorama DVDs and fursuits that you and your girlfriend can desire!

7 Name: Anonymous Addict : 2007-03-05 23:53 ID:TVbZ17e0

meh... >>6 has a point, i checked and fursuits are retarded expensive. but I dont think I'll be passing cal 2 this semester, so its easier on my GPA if I drop it, which means I'll only be taking two classes and I'd have way too much free time on my hands

8 Name: Anonymous Addict : 2007-03-06 01:17 ID:MdLRiSQh

Don't drop out man, I have the same problem as you, I watch asian dramas to much, but i still pass (to my suprise). I think I have this cool power or somethin.

The thing you should do is , do homework for an hour, and you get 5 hours to watch dramas or anime!

I usually only watch 1 asian movie on each weekday, and watch a whole series of an asian drama, during the weekend and during a vacation.

That's how much I'm addicted.

Densha Otoko is a great series, one of my top 3! That's probrobly what led me here.

9 Name: Anonymous Addict : 2007-03-06 04:03 ID:dojehI2c

same here, actually. densha otoko sent me on a quest for an american 2ch.

but I dont seem to be as lucky as you. I've been talking to the other people in my class. half of them dropped out after the grades for the first test were posted, and the second test is tomorrow. even my friend who sits next to me, tutors me, and id accepted as having the highest grade (and most bubbly personality) is planning on dropping the class.

I'm not going to drop out, but I'll only be attending one course for the rest of the semester, leaving me with a rediculous amount of free time.

nyaaaa... I just finished watching the last episode, neglecting my studies and chores to do so.

I love the feeling when i finish a great story... its sad and nostalgic knowing that there wont be anything more to hear, but its done and you have closure... so emotional.

I was so sad when I watched the last episode of Densha Otoko. It was such an amazing story, really just the most crazy otaku fairytale. I wanted it to keep going! (;w; )

I ride the bus in to work every day and I dream of being able to defend one of the pretty girls from a drunk,

13 Name: Anonymous Addict : 2007-03-06 17:26 ID:dojehI2c

Heh, I wish I lived in an area where girls actually rode public transportation. The metro system here in Houston is so horrible and has a reputation for being dangerous.

If you liked Densha Otoko, you should check out Damaged Goods / Nurse-kun. It's basically the 4chan densha otoko, and it is awesome.

18 Name: Anonymous Addict : 2007-03-07 06:29 ID:8JpbA9if

Damaged Goods is too over the top

i had my test today and bombed it horribly. so i went and dropped my class. that really sucks though... i'm going to have to take it again next semester.

I read the whole saga just 10-15 mins ago, since I had grabbed the first 2 eps and watched them with my girlfriend. Couldn't handle waiting for the others to download! Such a great story :)

I wish i could meet a very very beautiful and nice woman too! ;(

Well since i am a Hikki, nothing will happen at all.

I will just go dying someday and end my pathethic life.

...or you could become a functioning member of society!
but the suicide isn't so bad, and as long as we don't have to hear about you feeling sorry for yourself, it's all good.

30 Name: Anonymous Addict : 2007-08-14 11:29 ID:SYxCMMNF

Perhaps you are right ;)

I was never a member of the society, and becoming one out of nothing.....nah, just too cheesy ;)

So if there won't be any miracles, there won't be any life for me soon :)

furry.. /b/ ... wtf.

41 Name: Anonymous Addict : 2007-12-31 04:36 ID:FrXnzVf9

I actually got to D-O the roundabout way, through ASCII art. In the late 80's and early 90's, I used to do ATASCII and PETSCII graphics for local BBSes.

I saw flash animations like Chinko Anesan, and Kikkoman. I thought "what's the deal with all these ASCII cats?" I even bought a Shii-chan sticker in Akihabara in 2003, not knowing what it was, and my friend who helped me find it told me it was from 2ch but didn't explain it.

I'm not into romantic comedies, but I rented Densha Otoko because of the promise of lots of ASCII art.

And I came during the fireworks at the end.

OK, that last part's not true, but, yeah. Monar should have had a bigger part. The scene in the phantom train station at the end would have been a great place for its catchphrase, probably. My Japanese is rusty but I bet they could have wedged it in.

I read the english translation of the original threads here:
http://www.rinji.tv/densha/

I'm idealistic, but I get the feeling that this probably really happened.
Then I realize I have no girlfriend and am deluding myself.
