Upon first seeing previews for this anime I labled it a .Hack ripoff to soil my dreams. But after watching a few episodes on at a friends house I have really started to like it. We got up to episode nine or eleven I think. Now that the series has ended I've gone and torrented the whole thing. Now, every night after I've finished my Uni homework I'll watch another ep, and give it review.
Here we go! See you tomorrow night (Or so)!
Alright, so ep 12 was the one I left off at, and I just watched 13, so here we go.
Of course, there WILL BE SPOILERS. You are warned.
13 started out nice, meeting an old white hat hacker who used to maintain the security of the game he is now stuck in. You get to see so Kiritos and Ausnas life together, and just what they mean to each other. Especially how much Kirito means to Ausna.
Then they are called from their leave by the Blood Oath High Command. Some bad shit's going down. Before the battle Asuna brings up something that's been bugging me for a while.
While they've been stuck in the game for two years, what's happening to their bodies? Not moving and living on IV fluids for two years straight, well, I'm not a doctor or a nurse, but I have enough medical knowledge to know that you quite literally cannot live like that forever. Eventually you will die.
With a renewed vigor to beat this game and save everybody, our heros and a large group of players all head in to fight a mystery boss that killed a recon team.
Fuck, it's huge, and it looks like somethings already killed it. How do you kill something already that decomposed? It instantly kills two, then three players. Keep in mind that when you die in the game you die for real.
Three family's grieve that day.
Episode 14-
FUCKING WHAT
Those last moments, those were really emotional for me.
Episode 15-
So we meet the sister! And learn Asunas situation here on Earth, and it is dire. Kirito has not lost any of his protectiveness for Asuna and refuses to back down to this weirdo. Isnt' he a bit old for what he's planning anyway. Kirito starts to loose hope. But his sisters words cheer him up. But it turns that his sister, wait-
Oh god dammit Japan. Can't we have at least tell one good romance story without you making it weird for everyone else in the room?
16-
I'm guessing this new game is another conspiracy, I bet I know what the real identity is of the creep who is after Asuna too!
And it's nice to see our token black back.
Good job Japan, this it the least racist black guy I've ever seen in anime.
And congratulations Kirito, you've got your daughter back!
17-
The plot thickens. And I don't mean that ironcally.
Oberon, the Fairy King is in fact NOT who I thought he was, but some freak looking to improve upon the "Work" of our last big bad guy. What Oberon is doing would not just create a world to trap people in, it would destroy them at a mental level.
What does it mean to be yourself when someone can just re-format your brain?
18-
Welp, that little AI is exploring humanity. Not a lot moves forward in this episode. But we do get to see at the end that there is a dark looking group after Kirito and his sister. Not that the two siblings know that they are playing together.
19-
Sweet battle, Kirito's illusion spells DO come in handy! Kirito, pleeease don't lose your grip on reality. Political intrude, and lot's of it. Kirito determination to help people is renewed.
20-
Kirito is seriously FOE. Good thing he's not the antagonist here! The animation quality for the battle seems to have randomly go on up, which is pretty neat. It shows they know what matters I guess. We've gained support of two whole races! And the respect of another.
As fro Asuna, there's no way this is going to well...
dude, just to be clear, the first arc is pretty much a 17 year old's .hack fanfic that he wrote on his site
and the 2nd arc is also bad
the 3rd arc is a lot better as it's a fantasy shooter
anyways, his other short stories from his old site weren't too bad
and accel world was actually interesting if you're not a moron and actually try to find the reasons as they're actually there in AW, unlike SAO, but a lot of people hate AW because they're too stupid to look for reasons or hate a fat mc
21-
Has Kiritos little sister finally come to a decision? She crys on Kiritos sholder in-game, and seems to feel a better for the moment. We reach their destination and learn more about the game mechanics of that big ass tree, and Yui detects Asunas prayur ID in the sky!
Meanwhile, after escaping major references to tentacle porn, Asuna seems to have found that all the minds of the captured 300 SAO players are being fed pain and suffering directly into their brains as they dream! But now Asuna has stolen a card key from an admin console. What's her next move in this game of chess against her captors?
22-
Kirito's first attempt at fighting his way through the gaurdians of the-big-tree-I-can't-remember-the-name-of fails. But not without taking down a shitload of gaurdians in the process. While waiting for respawn, Leefa revives him early. And in a few words, their freindship is put into peril.
The secret is out. Back in the real world Kirito attempts to mend things, but Sugus words are harsh, and she reveals that she knew all along that Kirito was adopted all along.
But he quit kendo because of it? And became cold to her? This is new I think, I didn't know. Kirito does not respond though, so we don't know if this is 100% true or not.
23-
So it WAS meant to be impossible! Faggot devs!
24-
The final boss is Oberon himself. And we learn things about that guy. I mean, I just thought he was evil, just the bad guy. This guy is a fucking sick freak. All seems lost for a moment, Kirito crys, but a friendly neighborhood ghost in the machine gives Kirito a verbal kick in the ass. And r00t.
It's over, it's finally over. But...there's one episode left? What is this? Welp, I won't know till later becaUSE FUCK I'M LATE FOR CLASS
>>10
I dropped AW six episodes in simple because I couldn't handle having a fat MC anymore. It just felt so wrong.
Cool thread, now redo this from episode 1. Shouldn't be too hard.
>>16
They're late for class so they didn't finish the last episode either. They did say we will know later though so any moment now. Been waiting a while, but I believe. Stay strong, keep faith OP will deliver.
All right, bump this in 8 years, I will probably still remember this site still exists.
>>18
I hope you don't.
How optimistic.
