Well, I didn't see a Korean thread on here, but that's definitely the language I'm wanting to learn how to speak more of right now. I can almost completely read hangul, but I can barely pronounce it, and I can barely say what I read (so I basically can only romanise it, I'm not even sure if I say annyeong right)

Anyone else here try to speak Korean before? Or am I alone.

I am trying to re-learn it...
I was a native speaker couple of years ago but lost practice since :(

I want to learn Korean but it's hard and I have no willpower, so I've managed to fuck about and waste a period when I would have had a lot of time for it, and now I have next to none and won't be getting more anytime soon.

I might have managed something but I got really discouraged by what I heard people say about it - with other languages, even other ones percieved as difficult, there are plenty of people who are encouraging and optimistic, but with Korean it was all "lol you'll never get good better just to give up now".

Maybe Korean just attracts gloomy bastards for some reason, I don't know.

I know how you feel. Even my native Korean friends find their language's grammar an alien graffiti merged into a textbook.
