I'm usualy just a lurker around the board, but today i have a story... recently i been posting about long distance relationship because I really like this girl that lives in japan. but i live in australia so its really hard if i want to confess to her.. well this is how it all started...
Around 2005 April, i was picked on by some people at school because of my hobby, which is movie making. I'm really like a movie otaku, i love watching movies thats why my dream is to become a film director. most of the girls i knew, i told them about my hobby and they would all ne like "isn't that like really immature??" and later on wont ever talk to me.. it was around November when i was on a japanese pen pal website where i met the japanese girl, her name was Aya. we started emailing each other talking about school and life style ect. then i asked her if she used skype and she said she uses it so we added each other. we started talking in skype, (to those who doesn't know its like msn but you use microphone to talk). for the first time, i told her i'm into film making... she unlike the other girls was actualy intrested in it.. she asked me when can i show her my movie.
we talked almost everyday, mostly for 2 hours and we can always talk about anything like movies, anime, school, music ect.. then one night... we talked for 6 hours! i only had 2 hour sleep because i had to wake up for tennis lessons >"< we got more close after that. for christmas i bought her a bracelet and air mailed it to her, she liked it alot. one day i got her email but was really surprised... usualy at the end of the email she would just write "from Aya" but this time she wrote "Love from Aya". i had this feeling when i saw it. after that, i didn't hear from her for 2 weeks and then one night i got her email asking when can i talk to her... but after that... I've waited for a month and stil counting on... I emailed her before saying i have something to tell her because i planned to confess to her next time we talk.. but now i dont think i can do it because i reckon its highly likely i may get rejected since we are so far away ＿|￣|○" the feeling with this girl is different from all the other girls i liked. should i confess or not??
First thing I can offer you is this:
"Love" when on a signature tends to mean NOTHING.
If you're knew to getting along with girls, I understand, you see that word and your heart jumps. I've misinterpreted this sign before, which is why I offer my advice as a caution.
You've only given us a overview of the information, so it's hard to say if you should confess or not.
Again, speaking from personal expereience, I once confessed to a girl that I knew primarily over the internet that I had feelings for her. At first she played along thinking I was flirting, but once she realized I was serious, she shot me down hard.
I really don't want to make you feel anymore nervous about this than you already do, but you did ask for advice so I'm offering what I can.
I'd gauge the situation best I can to find out if she has feelings for you if you don't want to set yourself up for a fall. You need more to go on than a "Love..." in an e-mail.
In conclusion though, as lame as it sounds, you really just need to listen to your gut on this. You need to ask yourself two things 1) Do you really love her? Or is this infatuation with someone that's offered you kindness? and 2) If you knew that she didn't love you back, would you still have feelings for her? If you can love her without need for reciprication, then by all means confess.

Dude you live in another country. Even from Australia it is expensive to go to Japan. Second this is just some girl you talked to on line. She might be a real bitch in real life. benson, i would avoid anything fancy and just go for a causal date. since its at noon, a fancy date will not be appropriate. plus fancy dates will make her nervous, and thats bad. rule #1 about first dates: keep her comfortable. when she gets uncomfortable it will end bad for you. and to keep her comfortable you need to be comfortable/relax.
dress comfortable and respectable, slacks, nice shirt, nice shoes, shower, put deodorant on. make sure the car is clean if you are driving.
i would recommend getting some pizza at a nice, causal place. then afterwards take her out to play some mini-golf (depending on weather) or something else like that. this way you can relax, enjoy the weather and each other company, but most importantly both of you will have fun. talk to her, tease her a little and in pure jest like making fun of her swinging style or bet her that she will miss the putt. make sure you smile too when you tease her to show you are playing, make sure you dont come off as a giant asshole. after the game get some ice cream to cool off and take her home.
its important that you be yourself, dont act like she is a potential girlfriend and place her on a pedestal because she is a woman. treat her like a mate, a extremely cute mate, but a mate none the less.
