Whatever happened to netlabels?
They were small digital-only labels that the occasional news article or editorial piece praised as "the future of music"? The Archive Organization still permits the creation and usage of storage to create netlabels, but even netlabels on Archive.org have gone extinct.
There's lots, I just had something out on Tsundere Violence yesterday. Lots on bandcamp it seems.
Here's a few

What happened to Altema Records they had some great stuff then POOF no activity for years.
4-ch should start a net label.
What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little bitch? I'll have you know I can play sweep arpeggios faster than Joe Satriani on a meth binge, and I'm deeply knowledgeable about diminished triads and dominant seventh chords, and I can shred at over 300 beats per second. I am trained in muscle memory pattern memorization. You are nothing to me but just another blues noodler at Guitar Center. I will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am practicing my secret rendition of Eugene's Trick Bag from Crossroads, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You're fucking dead, kid. I can play anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred scales, and that's just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in wicked solos, but I have access to an entire arsenal of capos, slides, and a really neato wah pedal, and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the continent, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little "clever" comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn't, you didn't, and now you're paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You're fucking dead, kiddo. Unleash the fuckin' fury.
Well most labels are entirely netlabels now. I don't think the netlabel itself died, but they dropped the term "netlabel" because most releases are only put out digitally these days.

not sure if a netlabel or just a collective
Everything that was once good is now shit and or gone/dead.
We are entering the end times.
I don't think so at all! There are still lots of older netlabels running fine and lots of cool new ones coming around. I don't know what music you listen to but the stuff I listen to still has a great community around those labels + great content. I've even released on a few myself.

Do you have any tips for getting labels to release your stuff? Do you just send an email to labels that don't have any forms and that's it?
