lame, post real files here.

There is famitracker for composing famikon music, there is sunvox for generating music in a very complex way, and there are your more traditional trackers and tracker formats.

If anyone on this dead board actually makes chiptunes, it would be very cool. But I highly doubt it.

Unreal, Deus Ex, Bejeweled 2 Deluxe and Cave Story all used chiptune music. Every single famikon game used chiptune music in a sense.

I remembered.

https://milkytracker.org
crossplatform music tracker. Because it is so crossplatform, it avoids using floating point operations (and I assume SSE too), you can't be crossplatform without sacrifices. Some of the options it has are very confusing for me, and the worst thing is they slightly but almost unnoticeably change the resulting sound, so I don't know which the composer intended.

XMPlay
http://www.un4seen.com
This is just a player rather than a tracker. You don't see the music, you only play it. It supports lots of formats, more than trackers, but I prefer actual trackers, because in trackers I can see every note, every time there is some slick shit like loops or jumps happen, and I can see author's comments more easily.

https://openmpt.org
music tracker for windows. Never used it.

tracker for ファミコン/famikon/famicom/NES/Dendy. Simple and decent enough, but it can only produce the sound famikon can produce.

ピコカキコ
https://dic.nicovideo.jp/a/ピコカキコ
It uses Music Markup Language to play music. It originally used FlMML (Flash MML), but now I think they use something javascript based. It is a bit laggy if complex features are used, and javascript is rarely not laggy in general.

I remember "Zorg", "Fox" and "DSCK" posting their chiptunes on sovietrussia's /m/ board (it supported uploading a few tracker file formats), and I used one in a game I made at uni. sovietrussia dot org was a wee imageboard I came across in 2007, it was part of the iichan network. It died of CP spam quite a few years ago now. It had a few good boards (I liked the Flash, Wallpapers and Circles boards, and its /z/ - Random board was brilliant) but the best was the Music board because it supported music file uploads, including mp3s and AACs as well as milky tracker files and things.
