Dear Readers,
Yesterday, a full staff meeting was called at my "day job." The announcement was made: This company has been purchased. Regulatory delays will complete in 30-60 days and the home office will be phased out in 3-6 months following. This left me with a bit of lethargy last night and I haven't posted the promised Nokia interview.

I have to re-examine my future course of action. While Linux systems administration is in my blood, I admit that I love writing here yet more. Sadly, a blog without sponsors cannot pay the bills. I have several months to try to figure it out - but I hope to make mobile Linux device news, features, demonstrations, and HOWTO articles into a career. It's a long shot, but we'll see where it goes.

In the meantime - I have to plan on the future. I've cut my blog budget to "advertising revenue only" therefore (unless I get lucky) cannot purchase any new devices until this is resolved. I'll still try to obtain review devices, software, and materials.

I have noticed that Google AdSense has been performing exceptionally poorly. I have no explanation for this as identical numbers of pageviews/clicks have done much better in the past. Example: Yesterday I had about 2900 visitors. Six of whom clicked on AdSense ads. Revenue: 69 cents. Starting in November, I added a Chitika RPU to my post pages (but not my main page) between the content and the comments. This regularly pays me at least double what AdSense does alone, thereby tripling my overall revenue. This is a very good thing. The ads are limited to "products," taking people to actual purchase links. If any other bloggers want to add Chitika, you can do me a favor and do so through this link for the referral.

I don't intend to add any more site ads as they will disrupt the content and interfere with the format of the site. I also don't intend to advertise in my RSS feeds as I am syndicated and don't want to take advantage of those syndicating me.

Sunday was a landmark day for my YouTube channel. I got my 400th subscriber, posted my 100th video, and topped 1,000,000 video views. I am open to adding ads to my videos, but will filter them so they're relevant to my readers. We'll see.

In the meantime, I'm open to all advice on career moves, geographic moves, or ways in which to turn blogging into a living.
