I am a proud weeaboo. And I prefer series in a certain way, that I think everyone else over-localises. There are concepts in the Japanese language that cannot be expressed in full capacity with a single word, if any at all, and instead of adapting such words and losing part of the meaning, it’s better to keep it in the Japanese.

Additionally, some words are changed completely. For example, Kaguya says “Kaicho” meaning “President”, but the subs show it as “Shirogane”, which she doesn’t say at all. It’s plain incorrect. Honorifics contain a special meaning with each of them, removing them is the highest crime.

For example, if I called someone Shiro-san, that means I respected them. If I called them Shiro-chan, I’d be close to them, and if I called them Shiro-kun I would look down on them. All three of these would be rendered as “Shiro”, but they each contain innate different meanings.
