I was just making a joke, anyhow, methinks if OP does not just move on, he will be percieved as being a bit clingy. Acid test here, if he cannot talk to her without bringing up relationship stuff, he does not want to be "just friends" but instead wants to put himself into a position where he will be reconsidered as soon as she ends her relationship with this "obviously unworthy interloper."
