I'm up to around 60 gigs now, how about the rest of you?
About 70% of that is MP3, the other 30% is AAC.
85GB consisting of: 18GB FLAC, 52GB Vorbis, 8GB Musepack, 7GB MP3

(゚∀゚)) poop!

I haven't purchased any music in a while, so my collection is very small, at 3 GB.
( ゚Д゚) I listen to old rock and alternative from the 90s
32 gigs, all MP3. 128kbps MP3 encoding is plenty good enough for me, so I don't see any need to bugger about with obsucre formats.
27 gigs.. 192 kbps mp3. some are higher or lower quality. pls note that I have a very varied taste in music :D
3.1 gigs on my hard drive, mostly 256kbps mp3.
and about 200 cds...
about 75 GB of mp3s.
217, mostly cue-flac and some mp3. not below 192k because I like my ears.
No one owns physical music here?
I've got about 70 gigs on my computer (90% mp3, 5% ogg, then random flac, m4a's and such)
And maybe like 5 cd's (heh)
and 200+ vinyl records (mostly classic rock)
>>10
I own physical music, 80 CDs or a 100ish. But I never listen to the actual physical CDs. I rip them upon purchase, and keep the CDs as a backup for my collection, in case of corrupt hard drive or so.
>But I never listen to the actual physical CDs. I rip them upon purchase, and keep the CDs as a backup for my collection
exactly that.
I buy 2 or 3 new cds a month. Rip them for listening to on the train/etc, but when I'm listening to music at home (and I'm almost always listening to music when I'm at home) I have the actual disc spinning in the stereo.
I only buy CD's from artists I really, really like. As in, the whole album is awesome, and would be worth having in hard copy.
TaQ - ongaq:stromatolite
TaQ - Bounce:Connected
Run With The Kittens - Run With The Kittens (local indie band)
Haibane Renmei OST
The Verve - Urban Hymns
B.B. King - Deuses Wild
Moby - Play
Earth Wind And Fire - The Best Of
Fatboy Slim - The Best Of
Nine Inch Nails - With_Teeth
Serial Experiments Lain - Cyberia Mix
Aside from that:
~3200 MP3's, FLAC's and shit. All MP3's are at least 192kbps, while the majority are 320kbps. Total: 27GB.
And thats after I lost all my shit a year ago.
120gb, mostly mp3.
not very large per say (only ~900 MB, mostly mp3s) but i've only had this computer for a few months and my collection is very diverse, everything from Green Day to kurdish folk music, from Rachmaninov to korean sanjo.
my cd collection on the other hand is acceptably large (though not as ridiculously huge as i would like it to be), consisting of roughly 200 cds, ~eighty of which are of middle-eastern and central asian music, the rest being indian, indonesian, scandinavian and other miscellaneous things.
30-something gigs. i've also got a lot of cds i haven't bothered ripping. probably never will.
Around 6,000 songs...mostly mp3, and m4a
I've got 56 GB of MP3s, and an awful lot of FLAC, APE and TTA files that are eating the rest of my harddisk space.
48.9GB consisting of mp3, flac and ogg in that order.
2.6 GB; 562 songs total
Ah, around 120 gigs, including my real CDs. mp3, ogg vorbis and FLAC, with some random albums in musepack and even some game soundtracks in unprotected WMA.
I'll say one thing: backing up that much is a fucking chore, even with rsync.
2.84 GB, all in MP3 format.
I'm pathetic, shut up.
About 50 CDs' worth in FLAC, then a lot of mp3s because mostly now I listen to stuff downloaded legally online by indie artists, and that tends to be mp3.
dunno about the size, i'm not at home. but it's mostly MP3 - some is still FLAC because I downloaded it that way, but I'm getting around to converting it. lossless is nice and all, but I just don't have the HD space.
>>26 I'd recommend using Musepack or Ogg Vorbis then, as they give a better quality to filesize ratio than MP3.
30GB, mainly gotten from soulseek or ripped by myself. Both MP3 and OGG
400+ albums, 100+ vinyl, 200+ CDs, rest mp3 and 4 cassette tapes
20 gigs, all mp3 except for the 2 kill bill OSTS which are in flac
1gig, 15 or 16 thousand and some odd tracks, all in .spc
There is some mp3 (eek 6 gigs), but I only listened to that in my slightly younger but not young enough days.
like 60/70gb.
most are mp3's, like 0,5% are FLAC/AAC/MP4/asdafd
8.25GB of MP3s D:
Most of it ripped myself from CD, maybe a handful of downloaded albums
Relatively small, but it's growing!
550 vinyl albums
720 CD's
75 gigs MP3's
60 DVD concerts
45 Xvid/ Divx music concerts
3 gigs ogg
100CDs
25 Vinyls
4.8GB mp3s
15 Minidiscs
5 DVDs
GO PXTONE!
I have about 10 gigs of mp3s.
Winamp sez 89.31 GB (11305 files), but it's wrong. So, +2 DVD's of mp3s, about 20 CDs I haven't mp3d, and maybe 75 records (I'm still figuring that one out, I've got a line from the record player to my audio card but it only comes through really quiet...). I'd guess an even 120GB, if it were all mp3.
Current formats:
75 Records (singles)
120 CDs
11400 mp3s (this includes CDs I've ripped)
12 oggs
5 flacs
1 Teebee live mix .wmv
11 GB, mostly 192-320 mp3's, 1-2 ogg albums, and 2-3 flac albums
>>38 my dad had the same problem. I think he fixed it by putting an amplifier in between. if your stereo has in/out connections, that's fine. (I guess you already knew that anyway :)
me, 14.5GB of mp3 and 80 CDs
I don't rip my classical cd's... its sacrilege!
jesus you guys have alot lol, i only have about 20gig, and only like 20 cd's :/
12 gigs on the Mac, mostly Apple Lossless with some MP3. 4 gigs on the PC, all Ogg Vorbis.
160GB
All mp3
All tagged properly
almost 1 TB, all mp3
i have about 300 lps and eps. i had at one point around 800 but i sold most of it. and i have about 200 CDs that arent scratched up, god knows how many demo tapes.
as for mp3, i dont have many.
7.1G, some mp3's (Stuff from friends), a lot of xm/it/mod/sid/whatever other tracker format files, a lot of uber-quality ogg files (CD's I have and ripped myself). Mostly tagged properly so amarok can work it's magic.
Oh,and some platters which I am too lazy to count, about 50 I guess.
2.35 gigs, not included is unorganized singles 'n such.
Almost all mp3, some windows media ripped by Media Player.
500 CD's, small amount of mp3. Mainly due to CD buying addiction.
P.S All CD's are original.
24 GB, mostly 320 kbps mp3. I cannot understand how anyone can't hear the difference between 320 kbps and 128 kbps. It's phenominal.
14 GB, mostly in mp3 and ogg. Maybe 3 or 4 albums in flac. I only rip/download mp3 albums at or above 192kbps.
Second post here
I just aquired about 300 megs of gym
Ys3 and Valis one make up the overwhelming majority of that 300 ('A` )
a couple of hundred cd's i've bought over the years and around about 80gb of mp3's i've downloaded off slsk and various other places.
2gigs in my HD and another 60gigs in my ipod. mp3 downloaded from all over. and couple of burnt CDs of bootlegs and whatnots.
10GB, WMA,MP3 and some OGG files. I have yet to rip all my cds.
i have about 80 gigs of music
about 40 gigs per format
i have everything in both vorbis and mpeg layer III

Thanks, now I can easily download some files I've lost before.
I just hope this isn't a RIAA trap. :(
no no of course not >.> <.<
honeslty tough are you with the RIAA, im not, but othere here might be
80GB + a lot of CDs
40 gig mp3 at 192 or better. (--aps preferred)
200 cds
>>57
On the one hand, I love you. On the other hand, I'm not sure if that's a good idea... at least add a robots.txt so Google doesn't find that collection.
4GB+ of mp3s (゚Д゚)y─┛~~
hey does anyone have the direct download link to densha otoko
about... 10 gigs, i suppose. mostly mp3 because it is. used to have a player that only accepts that format... now I have one that does OGG as well, but still.
I've got almost 30 GB now... A lot of mp3 and ogg, but I also have quite a bit of modules and other things like .nsf, .sid, or other lesser-known chiptune formats
Most of my music is creative commons, public domain stuff, songs by friends, or music I made myself :]
>>66
Why not torrent?
I have no idea how big my music collection is in terms of GB, but it's not that large and it mostly features jpop & jrock.
In before weeaboo.
i have 20Gb of music on my MP3 player (got room for 80GB more) i also got a desent LP colletion, were i collect punk, SKA, Oi, blues, jazz, rock , progg and more.
braggin'
A little over 10 GB of stuff. Most of it's Classic Rock and Music Collections like the YTMND soundtracks and lone mp3s of songs I like The Man from Harlem. Most of it is in MP3 format, but I also have that .m4a format too.
The only things I listen to is Hip-Hop, Rap and R&B with certain exceptions, of course. Currently I have 12 GB worth of music on my computer.
>>68
I have a lot of creative commons, public domain stuff, songs by friends, and music I made myself too.
Will you be my friend? Or share your music collection with me? (I like obscure stuff.)
ok! google for mono211, kahvi, ansiform, and Ronin Collective :) 8bitpeoples for chiptunes.
This is all stuff I collected over the years. I found all these netlabels by looking around archive.org for stuff that interested me, suddenly I have 10 GB of music from that label, then I go look for other releases from the same artists at other places... it's nuts! And there's SO MUCH of it!
11GB of mp3 files, about 2000 songs.
>>75
Oh, I know all about netlabels, I thought you meant your friends just made stuff unofficially and unreleased.
I like some netlabel music too, but a lot of it just seems the same to me, like they're releasing slight remixes of the same song over and over and over... maybe I'm not listening to the right netlabels, but it seems like while they provide a good atmosphere, there's little stuff on netlabels that stands out, or works for active listening. And this is why I don't listen to netlabel stuff more.
I have about 40 gigs of Classic Rock backed up on my external hard drive in WAV for the most part (I have the room for it, I could care less.) Planning to convert them to a seperate 320kbps MP3 in the future to take some strain off of my 30 gig mp3. I also have quite of bit of royalty-free from Newgrounds, other asssorted places in MP3.
I have a 298GB external hard drive, and it's full. About two/three dozen movies but the rest is music. Besides that, I have stacks of CD-Rs (some audio CDs, some MP3 cds with 10/11 albums on), two full MP3 players (one approx 20gb, another approx 30gb, very little of it is backed up elsewhere, just bought a new 60gb iPod for cheap).
Keeping track of it is aboslutely impossible :7)
Considering I just got DSL A week ago, I'd say 29 gigs is a decent size. Most is MP3 but I have about 5% APE and 15% flac
I have all formats, mostly MP3 but also OGG, M4U, APE, WMA probably a little of everything. That's only because of the format I download them in though, and it's annoying to have to deal with some of the more obscure formats.
0 songs. 0 formats.
Silence.
I'm proud of myself :)
around 65,000 tracks
2450 mp3/ogg
and the rest are a mixture of sid, gb, nsf, and mod
150-200 cds (uncounted)
So far I have 873 Lossless WAV files at 30.3 GB.
>>83
what the fuck is wrong with you
I don't have anything that impressive XD
1719 songs, most in AAC format, about 30 or so in MP3
5.04 GB =P
40 gigs
I don't know how you guys can listen to your music collection if it's so massive. You won't be able to listen to all of the songs properly. Well I'm having problems keeping up.
200GB
MP3, converted all that shit.
43 albums
I tend to avoid the collecting music on the computer. Maybe I'm just old fashioned. I also own a pretty old Beatles LP :0
160Gb 32,000 mp3's
I'm rather impressed, actually...
~23GB MP3 starting to switch to FLAC
9.3 GB
423 Files, mostly MP3, except for my Dream Theater albums which are FLAC.
I've got 509 CD's
28GB in various formats. Things I rip myself I do in OGG, unless it's something I really love, in which case I use FLAC. I download a lot of music, however, which usually comes in MP3.
I also have 270MB of mod/it/etc files.
Around 60GB. Mostly MP3, maybe 1% a mix of OGG and FLAC.
>>89
That's why I'm content with a 4GB ipod nano (and yet i hate apple and hate myself for owning one). I listen to the things I really like, and keep everything else on an HD, for posterity.
15.3 Gigabytes
3,410 songs
158 hours
Around 3.5 gigs. I only get songs I LOVE, I never get whole albums.
