Been to like 6 cons and going to another in april, wear FLCL/Death Note shirts in public, have a bunch of wallscrolls up in my home theater room where - gasp! - guests can see [in my defense all three are from really good shows], haven't full-on cosplayed but I've worn ears and a collar to cons [the lazy man's cosplay, I suppose], well over half of the 1TB of network storage I have between my servers at home is anime, spent at least 2 years as a dedicated /b/tard in the beginnings of it [oldfag is old], almost the entirety of my music collection is jrock/jpop/moonlanguage electronic music.
Whee. :D
And to those who haven't gone, anime conventions are incredibly fun. I guess there's probably some preconception of what goes on at them, but all I can say is the two I regularly frequent in the NW - kumoricon and sakuracon, are best described as three days of absolute chaos and fucking incredible cosplay. :) Good gaming too, and decent merch booths.
And the hilarious expressions of parents who get dragged along by their kids, oh god
