If you don't care what happens to the Vietnamese who are conquered by the French, than why should I care what happens to the Hmong/Miao who are conquered by the Han? I've barely even heard of them.
At least the Vietnamese have made recognizable contributions to world culture, which is measured in the number of restaurants they produce in foreign countries.
