I guess some of the “HOLY SHIT NAZIS” is because they were systematically exterminating people, while the IJA was sort of whimsically exterminating people, the Allies were exterminating people with firebombs which is more acceptable for some fucked up reason, and no one outside of Russia cares about the Eastern Front even though that won the European theatre¹.
