I think I made ✌s unbalanced. How about this: Each time a ✌ is destroyed, another ✌ is destroyed, too.

I'm not sure how to decide which ✌ is destroyed, though. Maybe clockwise from the destroyed ✌, but that seems too mechanical for ✌s, which I see as somewhat spiritual.
