(;‹ ƒ‹) I messed up my html tags help me beeps

3 Name: (*゚ー゚) : 1993-09-8120 22:05

Hell yeah! If I knew even the first thing about making music, I'd be all over this.

4 Name: (*゚ー゚) : 1993-09-8120 22:34

I don't really think 38 days is quite enough time for this.

5 Name: (*゚ー゚) : 1993-09-8120 23:34

plus that deadline is 2 days after the viptronic one, which means anyone who wants to contribute to both will be pretty slammed already

6 Name: (*゚ー゚) : 1993-09-8121 15:08

>>3 Please do your best, people like you are who I'm most interested in listening to!

>>4 how about the 8200nd? A nice round number and more than double the time? I forgot about the viptronic one

It has?
Are there any Dokyuns good enough at music making to make music?
Well here's a tracker that works on any OS a VIPPER or Dokyun may ever use.

I really had started going through that tutorial series a few months ago, but eventually I lost interest.

12 Name: (*゚ー゚) : 1993-09-8123 21:36

After the holidays are over. After new years. End of February?
Why are we doing this anyway?
Music is really more the secret area's thing than Channel4's.

13 Name: (*゚ー゚) : 1993-09-8123 22:33

>>12
Well, the secret area got the idea from the DQN Electronics series in the first place...

Seriously?

Woo, DQN went without a music thread for far too long! We need our creative people back! Let's all be creative!

18 Name: (*゚ー゚) : 1993-09-8124 10:40

I hope to hear some dulcimer on this album and also lots of text-to-speech!

I've been talking to dendy, he's done with it and has given me and my collaborator blessings to continue running the comp. as long as we use a new name. DQN Digital.

27 Name: (*゚ー゚) : 1993-09-8133 12:58

Who is dendy? What is she done with? Why is he demanding a new name? What is this abhorrent individualism?!

Still doesn't look like a decent reason to drop DQN though, >>32.

34 Name: (*゚ー゚) : 1993-09-8133 22:01

Judging by his posts and retweets, he's just too busy with his circlejerk of BIG NAME HIPSTER PALS. Oh well then, I guess.

Let's make a classical music album (by DQN Orchestra) instead.

35 Name: (*゚ー゚) : 1993-09-8133 23:07

No need for sour grapes, >>34, these guys have moved on.

Really, the time this thread was trying to recreate won't ever actually exist again. DQN isn't like that anymore. Likewise, SAoVQ doesn't even really exist anymore (and that's a mercy: it had no identity of its own, and could only copy in half-measures in a totally non-understanding way what the Japanese did).

So what if something can never be the same? Different doesn't mean bad. If you listen to yourself, you sound like one of the mindless people who are stuck in the past who think old equals good. There are good things in the past, and there are good things in the present. There are probably even going to be good things in the future. All I know is that with a defeatist attitude like that nothing of value will be made.

I agree so much with this.

That's fine, but it seems that there are people who enjoy whatever is or is not existing now.

Sorry, I meant to reply to >>44

47 Name: (*゚ー゚) : 1993-09-8134 04:22

SAoVQ is the Robotech it took it's elements from several other completely unrelated places and bastardized them to have nothing to do with their original meaning and somehow passed that off as a culture.

48 Name: (*゚ー゚) : 1993-09-8134 05:03

>>47
What's dqn's culture?

49 Name: (*゚ー゚) : 1993-09-8134 05:06

>>32
i don't get why the one person feels they're better than the other person. i don't see much difference.

50 Name: (*゚ー゚) : 1993-09-8134 05:41

Well, aren't you special.

51 Name: (*゚ー゚) : 1993-09-8134 05:54

>>49
Because a lot of people form standards that always puts them near or at the top of some hierarchy of people. However, what I think you are trying to say is that the person complaining is just as bad as the person he is complaining about, which I have no comment on.

52 Name: (*゚ー゚) : 1993-09-8134 05:56

>>48 DQN is simply a shitposting board and never really aspired beyond that, save for DQN QUALITY (which happily isn't a thing these days). Truth be told, DQN has pretty much shed everything else.

>which happily isn't a thing these days

Instead we get 4chan kids spreading their shittiness.
At least we still got stuff like >>53.

55 Name: (*゚ー゚) : 1993-09-8134 06:20

>>52
Eyes opened. Didn't realize I've been shitposting or was supposed to be shitposting this whole time. I've been calling it bullshitting (I guess that was my first clue). Also, shed has multiple meanings. DQN emitted everything else? DQN protected everything else? I don't think VIP quality is much of thing on SAoVQ either, and it's pretty much a shitposting board like DQN. Pretty much all of its members came from DQN anyways. Then again, I don't browse either board that much anymore. I just don't get why people who browse DQN like to shit on it so much (kinda like >>49). They're a pretty creative bunch anyways and have actually completed a few projects (VIPtronics, the zine, the podcast everyone hated).

56 Name: (*゚ー゚) : 1993-09-8134 06:22

Back then, there weren't many differences between DQN and SAoVQ.

57 Name: (*゚ー゚) : 1993-09-8134 06:24

Also, DQN and SAoVQ especially got almost all 2ch memes wrong, but whatever. „ขiLอMj„ก

58 Name: (*゚ー゚) : 1993-09-8134 06:30

>>54
We've always had shitty 4channers, hell some of the oldest posts are 4chan users and staff not understanding DQN, but perhaps the way 4channers have fun has changed for the worse since then.
I've always seen DQN as about being clever and pantomiming rather than just regurgitating canned responses as people seem to love to do there. It's a great play, a war opera, with enemies soundly defeated one after another.Every thread is an opportunity to have some fun being esoteric and that's the difference between DQN and SAoVQ, we jeer from the crowd at outsiders who make bad threads and cheer on their cock-fight against some invisible enemy where they always throw themselves into the trenches against them.

59 Name: (*゚ー゚) : 1993-09-8134 06:36

>>58
Good point. Like you said, it's 4channers that have gotten worse, making them stand out more.

60 Name: (*゚ー゚) : 1993-09-8134 06:37

I think these comments are a wonderful example of subjectivity and interpretation.

We got a smart one here, boys!

62 Name: (*゚ー゚) : 1993-09-8134 06:43

I think I've got it, the Kawaii-sosu visit counter went away, that has to be why everything has gone for the worse.

63 Name: (*゚ー゚) : 1993-09-8134 06:47

>>61
Trust me. People need to be reminded.

64 Name: (*゚ー゚) : 1993-09-8134 06:48

Just kidding. bps, you're doing a great job.

65 Name: (*゚ー゚) : 1993-09-8134 06:53

66 Name: (*゚ー゚) : 1993-09-8134 07:34

>>55
As far as I know, the new secret area wasn't advertised anywhere except here. It makes sense that everyone on SAoVQ is now a DQN.

67 Name: (*゚ー゚) : 1993-09-8134 07:52

>>66
Actually it was posted on neo/prog/ and 4ct as well, so that explains why it's so shitty now.

68 Name: (*゚ー゚) : 1993-09-8134 09:07

>>62 kyaaa I never noticed! When did that happen?

69 Name: (*゚ー゚) : 1993-09-8134 13:29

It isn't a problem of some of us leaving or somebody new coming - all of us were new at some point.

The problem is that we got older, grumpier, more nostalgic. We let politics affect, poison our thinking - not as dokyuns, but as actual people who are behind every post. We miss the past, the novelty, the funnier, simplier, better times. But that past is nothing but a delusion crafted by our own brains struggling to keep up with the Information Superhighway, it's a product of subconscious filtering coupled with an anger and disappointment with new posts. We see punks flooding the virtual streets - just like our forefathers did without keyboard for thousands of years. The world, however, didn't crumble.

Instead of dwindling on that golden, bright past we shall move forward, each of us doing their own unique thing, no matter how bad, and together we will become the superstructure we always strived to be.

What this means, however, is that you should fire up your favourite music program and... err... jam some grooves?

I'm fine with this conclusion. Why not

What's this? A new extended deadline? I don't know anything about that. Because I am punctual.

Punctual Gomez out.

89 Name: (*゚ー゚) : 1993-09-8156 22:47

Well I tried to learn music theory, but it seems like it'll take a while before I'm versed enough to compose something.
So an extension would be nice. Two years should suffice I think.

90 Name: (*゚ー゚) : 1993-09-8157 00:52

>Years

Even a month would never come.

91 Name: (*゚ー゚) : 1993-09-8157 10:41

>>87
Android but no Linux...?!

>>89
See >>91! I learnt a good chunk of music theory simply by making music as a wee lad. I didn't know the names for most concepts, but the great thing about music is that people have done just fine making music for thousands of years before modern theory came about!

93 Name: (*゚ー゚) : 1993-09-8157 14:35

>>89
Seconding what >>91-92 said. Theory is descriptive, not prescriptive. I started with the trial-and-error method of composing and it worked great. Just put some notes together and change them until they sound good to you.

94 Name: (*゚ー゚) : 1993-09-8157 14:45

Wait a moment, the deadline is in a few hours and I haven't even read up on how to make music with computers!..

Can we postpone it until October or late September or at least eventually make volume 14? I like number 14.

iP‚ึPjThe new deadline is September 8248th, 1993. That's roughly 90 days from today.

iP‚ึPjAlso, the compilation will still be called DQN Electronics Vol. 13. Because fuck the elitist superstructure.

We need to find a better host before we do a full scale release with twitter.

I also made a discord if anyone wants to help out with the next volume or share opinions about this one.

Fuck yeah, this is awesome!

My favourite tracks are Such is Tragedy, Beautiful Milf Thing, and ATRACATAC, but they're all beautiful in their own way.

Most of the recorded song threads were before my time, so it was amazing to hear my throwaway posts appear as actual lyrics in Punctual Gomez.

Also, I swear No Slo includes part of some Boards of Canada song, but I can't remember which, and it's really bothering me.

I can't wait for the next album!

I made a video for my tune if you want to see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9_6I8q95nM0 I made it all in Music 2000 for the PlayStation, I figure the glitchiness is something to do with playing it on a PS3 and it handling the sound library differently or something?

I recognize the sample in TANG0 from a track on VIPTRONIC...what is that sample, I love it

133 Name: (*゚ー゚) : 1993-09-8668 08:10

>>132 Could be, which VIPTRONIC track? TANG is just my synth and a text-to-speech voice reading the lyrics from tanasinn.info, and was originally a fade-in reprise from another track but I can't remember which one.

Also there was a typo in the uploaded album, it should be TANG.
