Disco Elysium
Really painful to play as someone who wants to do the right thing and solve all the problems. The harshness and hopelessness is the point, though, and the writing is some of the best I've seen in a video game.
Divinity: Original Sin 2
Pretty fun. I really liked the environmental interactions.
Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition
Haven't played it.
Doki Doki Literature Club
Weirdly, this one actually struck a bit too close to home for me, and I couldn't finish it.
Don't Starve
It's okay. I'm not crazy about the whole crafting/survival genre honestly.
Donut County
Like a comfy, relaxing version of Katamari Damacy, which is a niche that I really needed.
Dorfromantik
A cute puzzle game. Seems to go 50/50 between producing beautiful idyllic landscapes and producing nonsense fields in the middle of forests and train lines twenty metres long.
Dota 2
Why is this in my Steam library? I have never touched this and never will.
Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen
Pretty fun. I should go back and finish it.
Duke Nukem 2
Another one I played when I was very young. Quite nostalgic for me.
Dungeon of the Endless
Cool game with some interesting mechanics. I don't think I ever actually managed to beat it.
Dungeon Siege
I don't remember this one.
Dwarf Fortress
An old favourite. Somehow I never got along with the Steam release. The overhaul of the labour interface just doesn't give me the control I want, and all the keyboard shortcuts (e.g. in the build menu) are messed up. I'd probably be fine if I just gave it a few hours, but whatever.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
It's Skyrim. I don't know what more to say.
The End if Nigh
Didn't get as into it as Super Meat Boy. Maybe it deserves another chance, I don't know.
Eversion
Pretty neat.
Fallout: New Vegas
I wasn't as wild about it as some people seemed to be, but it's a solid CRPG. The factions were well designed, especially Caesar's Legion.
Fez
I remember it being pretty fun, but it's been a very long time.
Fortune Summoners: Secret of the Elemental Stone
The only things I remember about this one are a) the AI for controlling your NPC allies is stunningly good b) you can go into people's houses and steal their underwear.
Gone Home
I don't remember this one at all. I think the twist at the end had something about lesbians? But maybe I'm misremembering.
Grim Dawn
An okay hack-and-slash. I wasn't super inspired by it.
Gris
A very pretty and relaxing game. I liked the water area.
Half-Life 2
Pretty fun. The gravity gun was very satisfying to use.
Half-Life 2: Deathmatch
Never played it.
Half-Life 2: Episode One
It was okay. The one bullet challenge was fun.
Half-Life 2: Episode Two
See you, space gnome...
Half-Life 2: Lost Coast
I don't remember exactly, but I think this was just a tech demo?
Half-Life Deathmatch: Source
Never played.
Hammerfight
Don't remember this at all. I think I just got it as part of a bundle or something.
A Hat in Time
Very fun. I should go back and finish this some time.
Heart of the Woods
An okay yuri visual novel. The ghost girl was cute.
Hidden Folks
Very fun. There should be more games like this.
Highway Blossoms
Another okay yuri visual novel. The whole treasure hunt thing was a good core for the plot.
Hollow Knight
An excellent metroidvania. As someone with a phobia of isopods, I'm glad they at least put the isopod enemies in the scariest area, where they belong.
htoL#NiQ: The Firefly Diary
I remember this one being very frustrating and janky to play.
I Make Saints
An okay walking simulator. Not sure what the ending was about, unless it's just calling you a paedophile?
Inside
Pretty cool. I enjoyed being a huge blob at the end.
Katamary Damacy Reroll
Hell yeah, I'm going to go listen to the Katamary Damacy OST right now.
Klocki
A pretty basic puzzle game. Not much to say.
La-Mulana
This is really stupid, but something horrible happened to me IRL right after I started playing this, and I forever associate the game with that now.
Limbo
It's okay.
Long Live the Queen
Really stressful! I couldn't get past being invaded and forcibly married to some shitty guy no matter how many times I reloaded past saves.
Lorelai
Pretty neat.
Maiden & Spell
Okay, but I've played much better danmaku games. Maybe my standards are too high.
The Messenger
A really good game. I always forget the name of this one because it's so generic.
Milk Inside a Bag of Milk Inside a Bag of Milk
Pretty cool. I kinda wonder if entering your name at the start actually does anything, I can't remember it even coming up in the dialogue at all?
Milk Outside a Bag of Milk Outside a Bag of Milk
Okay, but I feel like the prequel was better.
Minoria
I really wanted to like this one, but it felt a bit half-baked, especially with things like the leveling system and lack of enemy variety. The slug girl was cute, though.
Momodora III
I only played this because I enjoyed RUtM. The games have absolutely nothing in common other than some tenuous plot threads, but it's still pretty fun.
Momodora: Moonlit Farewell
Very cool game. The animation and detail on some of the huge boss sprites is genuinely amazing. Lets me live my fantasy of every cat I see letting me pet it.
Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight
An all time favourite of mine. I've played this so many times under so many stupid conditions (100%, deathless, insane difficulty/one hit death, pacifist, speedrunning).
Monster Sanctuary
Like Pokémon but the game mechanics are actually well thought through and work together.
Murasaki
Very interesting physics-based danmaku game. I remember playing this back when there was no English translation and I couldn't read Japanese very well so I had no idea what was going on.
Murasaki Tsurugi
Mostly just more of the first one.
Mushihimesama
Haven't played.
Night in the Woods
Pretty cool. Reminded me a bit of my home town. Glad I'm never going back there!
Nihilumbra
I remember absolutely nothing of this game.
Ori and the Blind Forest
Honestly I wasn't super into this one. The whole projectile jumping thing was cool, but the environments felt very by-the-numbers, the plot didn't interest me, and I was disappointed they didn't really do anything with the skill trees or manual savepoint stuff.
Papers, Please
Fantastic concept for a game. Loved watching my family get sick and die and then getting caught by the secret police for accepting bribes from terrorists.
Path of Exile
A very solid hack-and-slash, although I feel like the first two or three acts were by far the best.
Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous
A pretty fun CRPG. I'm not 100% sold on Pathfinder as a system, but the writing and plot was decent, and that's more important.
Pathologic 2
Haven't played, but I want to.
Penumbra: Overture
Very wonky physics, but it has a special place in my heart. The voice acting on Red was so good it really carried the game. Loved the giant worm.
Penumbra: Black Plague
Much less wonky and better put together. I really enjoyed the dark humour, more horror games should lean into that I think. Again the voice acting (on Clarence this time) really elevated it. RIP giant worm :(
Penumbra: Requiem
A lot of people really didn't like this one. I thought it was okay, in fact I thought some of the puzzles and environments were better than the previous two games. This was primarily a tech demo rather than an actual instalment in the series anyway.
Planetarian ~The Reverie of a Little Planet~
Can't remember anything about this one. Something about it constantly raining or something?
Portal
A classic. I only wish there had been more of it.
Portal 2
Okay, but I think it would've been better as a prequel, or at least with a different protagonist. It was a bit disappointing that it completely undermines everything that happens in the first game -- you escaped, except no you didn't; you killed GLaDOS, except no you didn't.
Portal Stories: Mel
Don't really remember this one? I don't think I finished it.
Primordia
A pretty cool point-and-click game.
Princess Remedy in a Heap of Trouble
It's okay.
Princess Remedy in a World of Hurt
It's also okay.
Purrgatory
I accidentally ended the game early and couldn't save anyone, whoops. I can't even say the game didn't warn me.
Puzzle Agent
Very fun puzzle/mystery game.
Puzzle Agent 2
More of the same. I wish it had left the gnomes more of a mystery though.
QP Shooting - Dangerous!!
Don't remember this one.
Rabi-Ribi
A very fun metroidvania/fighting game. I never really got much technique beyond mashing buttons unfortunately. I loved that it had a dedicated yuri ability.
Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale
I went back and replayed this recently, and finally pulled off paying back the entire loan! Very fun game with a lot of heart to it. Unfortunately the dungeon exploration part tends to get pretty tedious towards the late game.
Risk of Rain
Haven't played.
Rogue Legacy
Pretty cool. I don't think I got very far in this one.
Rosenkreuzstilette
Haven't played.
Seabed
Haven't played. I've heard it's good though.
The Shape on the Ground
Cool concept, I wish there were more games like this.
She Remembered Caterpillars
An okay puzzle game.
A Short Hike
Very comfy little game. I had a good time with it.
Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove
A bit too punishing for my tastes. I wasn't super into it.
Simcity 4 Deluxe
Pretty cool, but I was never much good at it.
Soma
An excellent horror game. I really loved it. The
Spacechem
Don't remember. Looks like I didn't get very far.
Splice
An okay puzzle game. The music was nice.
The Stanley Parable
Fun, but maybe not quite as clever as it thinks it is.
Stardew Valley
Fun and comfy. A solid game all round.
Sunless Sea
Loved the concept, but I could never get very far.
Super Hexagon
It's okay.
Super Meat Boy
Very fun game. I loved the Hell music.
Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP
It was okay. I liked the moon phase stuff.
The Swapper
All I remember about this one is that it somehow overheated and crashed my old computer.
Tabletop Simulator
It sure does simulate that tabletop.
The Talos Principle
Pretty cool. I should go back and finish it some time. I think I've said these exact words about at least one previous game, but whatever.
Tametsi
A nice little puzzle game.
