Might I suggest such replies as, for instance, funny yet horrifying stories of things you've blown up, or your plans to go out to the lake tomorrow, or the legal status of fireworks in your county/state, or perhaps a generic "we don't have the 4th of july in my country" post for all you 'outsiders', etc etc. The possibilities are endless.

I was watching the news and they show the 'dangers of fireworks' They showed film of dolls exploding and catching on fire dure to fireworks. Except the fireworks were stuffed in the pockets and was actually making contact with the clothing before they were lit. I life in NC, where the firework laws are strict but not too strict. Basically no projectiles. Anything else is good. I know up where I grew up, in Boston, Sparklers were illegal but we just drove up to New Hampshire to buy them. And we just made sure weren't caught. And in NC too, we just drive down to SC where there are no firework laws and buy shit in bulk.
I live in GA, where the laws are fairly strict because some Congressman couldn't figure out the difference between personal priorities and his duty to the firework-enjoying people. The only 'works I like much are the Roman candles.
My favorite type of incendiary has to be the homemade napalm. Spreads like butter!

I live near Boston too, so I can't even buy sparklers. This year, I got to see fireworks from a car in New Haven.
I was actually in Washington D.C. earlier in the day.
We don't celebrate 4th of July in my country, but we shoot fireworks at a holiday named Valborg (besides New Year's Eve). Last Valborg, I took out the gunpowder out of several different firecrackers, and stuffed them in layers in a Coca-cola can. The explosion was ZOMG HUEG, and only small fragments remained from the can.

Just be glad you don't live in dc. On the fourth of july we were overrun with tourists that riding the metro (subway) was impossible. Goddamn tourists.
