I've just started taking aikido/aikibujustu and shinkendo. It's a lot of fun and the techniques are awesome. I live outside of a major city so I didn't have many choices before this dojo moved in. There are plenty of crappy taekwondo places around here (no offense to taekwondoka, it is an awesome art if you take it seriously) thanks to the local Korean population/low regulation of dojos internationally.
I know a lot of 4-chnners are interested in Japanese culture; have any of you taken a martial art, like taekwondo, karate, jujutsu, etc?
if this thread fails here try "Hobbies"
i did tai chi once, it was ok but i'm too self-conscious to practice outside of class :|
I like the marital arts. Especially applied in an extramarital context.
