Big hack this one, looks like they took over Hiro's account and had root access to the whole site, they've leaked the other one (1) admin's account details and all the usernames, email addresses, personal addresses and phone numbers etc, of the mods and janitors.
Not sure how easily the site will come back from this one with the level of the hack. People currently aren't sure if the core db was also hacked with all the 4chan pass details or poster ips on it or if that was pulled before it could be accessed.
As much as I hate 4chan's tranny mods, shartyniggers are absolute fucking subhumans.
Site was stolen, not much to do anymore other than migrate, they didn't update the security for the past decade or so, why think he'd do otherwise if he even has access anymore

Stolen implies that hiroshimoot lost something. He hasn't lost the domain, nor the imageboard software which will be backed up somewhere. Even if they dropped the database... so what? That will fill back up in a few days. Containmentcuck will be up and running in the next few days unless glowie plans have changed.

My biggest fear is that they reboot it with someone else's imageboard software. All the modern ones run on the same framework as 8ch with its awful formatting, multi-image posts, sound webms, no way to turn off image expansion, etc.--basically unusable.

Is anyone really coming here from 4chan anymore? I doubt 99.9% of its current userbase has even heard of this site.
Anyway, I hope this isn't it for them. Even with all the problems it had, it was still one of the only semi-tolerable places left to discuss things. I hope it comes back with different mods/jannies and hopefully software that isn't from the Stone Age.

I could do without some of the more gimmicky elements of other imageboards, but multi-image posts would be nice to have. I'm mainly thinking of boards like /a/ where it would make dumping a manga chapter quicker and easier, for example.
Man, this down time really just hammers home just how much of my time lately was just browsing 4chan, looking at dumb shit and posting there... I'm bored, and it doesn't help that I'm in the middle of cleaning out my living space.

You can't have both the simplicity of the imageboard and a post box that tries to cram a bunch of images and their filename/size details into space fundamentally made for one image, plus it ruins the flow of reading a thread. The whole point of dumping is to have the images come in lined up top to bottom anyway, if you're really concerned with sharing multiple files fast just throw a zip up elsewhere and link to it.

I’d respect 4chan if it actually lived up to this. Its not a place I like using, outside of a few small boards and threads, but I do feel strangely sad that it’s gone for now. Too much aggressive schizophrenia. Too much hyper racism and political astroturfing. If it does come back, I hope it improves but we all know it won’t.
