no because there is a captcha so there's simply no point when enjoyable-to-use boards are available.
I wish it were more active than this. I love textboards, but most of them seem to be dead, especially after moot closed down dis.4chan.org. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places. Anyone know any good textboards?
If you know the board name I.E.
4chan.org/prog/
it will take you to the programming textboard, you just can't navigate to it.

Oh, of course they are still there. You cannot post on them, though. That essentially makes them 'closed down'.
It's not very active but not dead either.
I haven't been on 4chan in forever, why the fuck did moot close down 4chan's textboards? Not cool at all.
Would also like to know some more textboards to go on. I only have two websites left to go on and it's starting to gget to my head.
>>7
The software they ran on was a piece of crap and every time the boards were spammed it was difficult for mods/janitors to delete stuff without calling MrVacBob.
I don't have anything to do with 4chan anymore but I imagine as they were tweaking and updating the rest of the site they didn't think it was worth the hassle to keep the textboards running and dumped them.
Kind of a shame because they were the weirdest and most amusing part of the site, but it wouldn't be the first time moot was a faggot.
I wish it was a little more active. I hoped that would be the case now that w4c is dead. Really good boards like Food, Games, Anime and Manga get 1 post on a week or two if you're lucky. It's really sad. At least we don't have to deal with the /b/tards and generally 4channlers that are all over that kek and lel stuff nowadays. I don't get it it's not even funny and it's not a figure of speech like zOMG or noes was/is. What is the point?
penises
Is there even an active english language textboard out there anymore? I love text boards but this is the most popular one I know of.
I feel like the traffic is spread out way too much here. Not that we need 10 posts a minute, but at least 10 a day would be nice. Maybe there just needs to be a new text board instead of people trying to revive all of these ancient dead ones.
http://tablecat.ipyo.heliohost.org/lounge/ might be getting 10 a day or so.
And yeah, I don't see 4-ch taking flight. It would have to be some new sight.
>>7
Somewhat new ones are this off topic board http://dontclick.info/spam/ and this w4ch continuation http://w5ch.heliohost.org/ (manual access)
There's also /prog/rider, 6ch, /soc/ and tokikos board
>>14
Holy fucking shit someone linked to http://w5ch.heliohost.org/. Now you are making me feel guilty for abandoning it. I might have to put in another week and
port the javascript
add That was VIP quality! redirect pages
implement subject.txt (requires a change to the database unfortunately)
cache recently accessed web pages
add a non compressed thread cache to increase performance when many posts are being made within a small number of threads.
fix the hyperlinks in the home page and let search engines start index it.
>>15
You don't have to do anything, I was just saying.
>>16
That's ok. The fact that some people are even aware of it provides more motivation to complete it.
IF there's any part of the Internet more active, I don't want to know about it.
Three
No idea. I post a few times a month, a year, a decade. But that's how my internet habits usually go.
>>19
obscurity doesnt imply quality anon
you gain nothing by browsing "sekkrit klub" boards that have one post a week.
Besides, how much time can you really spend on a discussion website posting all by yourself?
Even if you like to browse websites like this, there is nothing wrong with going onto 4chan or reddit sometimes too.
Just to prove my point, lets see how long it takes for you to reply. The last post was roughly a month ago. Lets see if you, anon #19, will ever come back to see this, or even how long it takes for anyone to reply.

Let it go, someone has already got a fully working world4ch clone working with posters...
The site gets a fair bit of traffic actually - mostly people lurking. While DQN is the most active board, it's also buried at the bottom of the navigation so I think this might be lost to many visitors. It's also not exactly a General/Random board, so it perhaps doesn't fulfill expectations despite its relatively high activity.
I'm reluctant to nuke any of the boards for the same reason that I think it's a shame moot killed world4ch. But maybe just adding a new board (with no particular topic - effectively a new General), like >>13 says, would reinvigorate the site if all the visitors are made aware of its existence.
If anybody sees this, let me know what you think. It could perhaps cause a reduction in activity on DQN, so maybe it's not a good idea.
You should name a new general/random board /mu/ (for 無題), because:
-It will confuse errant googlers looking for 4chan's music board
-DQN has the Buddha nature
Actually that's stupid. Just don't name it /b/ or random or anything similar.
In the mean time, I have at least elevated the "General" section from the bottom to the top on the side navigation page (http://4-ch.net/side).
>>26
Not sure exactly what to call it yet, but certainly its URL would not be chosen as if it were an imageboard. So there is no chance it will be /b/. Similarly I think "Random" isn't really a good name for the board.
It's kind of a placebo effect though, but something tells me it would be interesting at least. But perhaps it comes to the same thing as archiving all of /general/ as it stands now and wiping the slate clean.
I actually come here often, though I don't reply much.
This place is a convenient place just to make records of things or invite people for longer term discussions. Like this thread, which only 1 person has replied to but no one seems to mind being there.
>>28
I like seeing the news unfold by reading the thread.
Wow, I was so addicted to a certain board, that I forgot everything about side menu.
I didn't know this popped up since world4ch went down so i've just been textboardless for a while. I'll come back a lot more
>>32
It popped up some time before world4ch went down though!
I think having the general board up top is a good idea. It would be nice to have someplace else active besides DQN.
So, I haven't visited DQN in a few days, felt too alienated to catch up, decided to look around and couldn't find IAA in the board list for a while. "General" on top is confusing!
Bumping
Sometimes I come back here and feel disoriented and have no idea if I've already posted in a thread or not!
