Why is 4ch the best forum?
Because no one posts on it!
someone daoes post
4channel is a cool place where I can relax and chill out. 4chan is a meme machine and I can't handle that banter.

Same. I like it here. There's a lot less aggressive shitposting.

Because it not support an image, which provide cancer to an imageboard.
sooooo chat be dead ??
everything here is dead.
No, just taking it easy.
I like the per-thread post numbering:
Also since there's no images and because of 2. you can print hard copies if you want.

It's hard not to take it easy when you're dead.
I really really like these dubs
No images. Nice people.
Not jew owned. Not profitable. Real. Hidden. Not known by jews and co. No verification. No mention of country. Could only be better if the world was wiped out and we were making a better one.
Could make a better one anyway, just be nice if making one didn't mean it would eventually be raped, imitated and sold.

Does this make you a hipster finding all the hidden obscure spots before everybody else does?
it used to just be this weird place i'd go sometimes instead of 4chan
nowadays i don't go to 4chan but i still come here because it feels interesting, there's a strange quality to it becaues it's existed for such a long long time.
and it reminds me old-internet and i never want that to go. all these new websites are so annoying. This is what i like.
4-ch is terrible because it gets like 10 posts a week. It's not really useful for anything other than looking at shitposts of the past.

The way I see it, 4channel is a cozy place to visit twice a month. I can honestly forget about it for half a year and still catch up on the latest 4channel gossip.

Reminds me of the BBSs of the past really. 10 posts a week was high traffic back then
This. When I was 14 I used to go down to my Uncle's house on the weekends and hit up a few of my favorite BBS' around the world. They each maybe had 10-12 posts through the week, and I would catch up and make a few comments. It blew my mind, living in a middle-class neighborhood in the Mid-West US to interact with people from China, Russia, and France without leaving my block.

I agree. I used to browse on here a good bit in '08. After 8 years, I feel like everything in my life has changed, but this site has not really changed at all.
As long as the servers remain operational, little nooks and crannies like this give me hope that the internet isn't completely doomed.
it's a nice little oasis.
like falling into a dream and appearing into a purgatorial white-space
it makes me feel strange.
4-ch almost feels like it shouldn't exist, not that i'd prefer it didn't, but it feels like a relic of a bygone era - an era that i've idealized.
having a 4-ch tab open alongside 4chan, one thread speeding by before i can even read it, and one thread that won't have any replies a month from now is a most unusual experience. all the more-so because while the site itself feels like travelling back to a 'better' time, the other users retain their knowledge of current events.
even though it's unreasonable to assume so - the site has survived for a decade after all - i fear that one day 4-ch may die, or worse yet become unrecognisable. while i'd like things to run a little faster (not significantly so, as that would take away from the "can read once a week and see everything") i fear there's a quantity-quality relationship between posts.
4ch is the web version of the stereotypical "paradise" that palm-tree'd island in the ocean. an tiny part of a much bigger, often uglier world.
4ch is the web as it should be, as it could be, not as it is.

Ships that pass in the night, and speak each other in passing,
Only a signal shown and a distant voice in the darkness;
So on the ocean of life we pass and speak one another,
Only a look and a voice, then darkness again and a silence.
cross thy fingers
wish my other beloved haunts had gone the same way instead of popping like zits leaving scars in my soul
I think the biggest reason why this site has retained its essence is because it is too dead for anyone to really set up shop and obsess over. It has largely sidestepped the more explosive life cycle of other communities and is probably best thought of as a red dwarf star as opposed to main sequence stars.
