How dead is this place?
No idea, I've just arrived.
Having been here for a little under a year I'd say it's not doing well. That's what you get for having so many boards though.
Yeah, all ten of us.
To be frank. It's dead as a doornail. There just isn't anyone adding worthwhile content and the vast majority of new posts are related to there being a lack of content and lamenting the museum-like atmosphere. Or asking for fewer boards to concentrate the spread of new posts. The odd bit of spam. It's not good. You could check back here in a month and see only a dozen posts here.
Our only real community here is DQN, which has a culture that is pretty inscrutable to outsiders. It's simply something that you either "get" or you don't. Some people enjoy their niche sense of humor.
I'm genuinely concerned about the future for 4-ch, having seen many a chan close down over the years. While it's nice to think of this place as a true survivor, standing the test of time, it's gotten a bit embarrassing. The addition of an imageboard is a newer event that has been a mixed blessing.
I hope that answers your question. Please, make yourself at home. Take your time. There's certainly no rush.
Eh, as dead as its always been.
It's actually deader.
I like it that way, >>4
Got places that are essentially glorified chatrooms with a somewhat weird interface like 4chan, places with smaller communities that still have somewhat of a culture, like 420chan or 7chan, places that have higher quality posts but few of them such as 99chan, 78chan etc., places that are like this that have little posts but a culture heavily prohibitive and confusing to outsiders. The last one is like a balloon that when penetrated sort of falls apart in the event of a getting a much bigger userbase, but there are tons of them out there just like this website.
Understanding the explicit differences of these types of websites isn't immediate, and I think that's kinda what allows most of the types of forums I listed to even exist and thus maintain something of value for the small community of users. It's not something that you can just throw yourself into overnight, and if it was it wouldn't be the way it is. A teenager who's just got his first computer can't dive into this right away. It takes a know-how of how things operate, and no one who enjoys obscurities like BBS and textboards was just handed a list of links and immersed into the flow of things immediately. They gradually discovered by chance that these places exist, and that's what makes them high quality. They retain their userbase and are allowed to incubate so long as nobody would care to share these places on a lot of the more mainstay sites of this caliber such as 4chan, 8chan, etc.
I started using the internet and imageboards last year after having been away for a long time and I generally agree with you, >>7. I'm a bit out of touch but here that's not a problem at all.
Ironically we've come full circle and 4chan is now the biggest and best of it's type again, while 7chan is rotting away and 420 has turned into an almost normal website. The majority of smaller boards and even unrelated websites that were active ten years ago are gone which is a contrast to the textboards which have remained comfortably static. Remember, you could have said the same things about it then.
But let's not kid ourselves, the majority of posts here and on world4ch were and are ==JEWS==.
Nobody ever came here for high level discourse.
There wilp always be a need for bbs. 4Ch is slow but it has been slow forever. Everyththing is ok
No.
traffic has increased in 2016.
It's super-active.
Not really its the same few people posting everyday only semi-active.
Do places like this just seem more dead because we can contrast them with other, really high traffic sites now? Like, would a board of this size have been seen as slow in 2005 or whenever, given that no-one would have experienced anything with the volume of posts of twitter or 4chan or what have you?
No one here except bots
Wondering what Shi is thinking about right now.

Thinking about all the Japanese women he fucks every day after he talks to them about is work on the elevator.

>Gokigenyou
What does this mean?
>7chan
Does anyone remember that .swf file from 7Chan's flash board (was it called /flash/?) of Asian guys singing or dancing. I think it was called "Pap the Thai" or some filename or title or whatever and it looked like they were in or near a Vietnamese village hut or something. I saw it years ago and thought it was weird.

You are wrong. For example I just used this site to share gamer knowledge with fellow epic gamers. There is a landscape in Minecraft which is full of sharp and steep cliffs with small pits of lava; said landscape is broken up by flatish areas. Cube monsters attack Steve in these landscapes. Source:

I'm pretty sure said video from 7chan was photographic only (not animated at all).
YouTube video Xs_w6dBvf1E also mentioned flacks or specks of volcanic ash floating through the air in Minecraft. Wouldn't those crystalline specks of silicon or whatever shred Steve's lungs and cause him to have pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis?

(nonce word) A disease of the lungs, allegedly caused by inhaling microscopic silicate particles originating from eruption of a volcano.

I'm sure it's been reposted to 4chan's /f/ but honestly, your description is too vague. The only thing that comes to mind immediately is the "german cocks" one except it's actually just a rooster and there are some asians dressed in german attire singing about it. i think it starts out with like "TAKESHIIII. ISHIIIII"
