Hello 4channel I am posting from Internet Explorer I am stuck in the past.
how'd you get past tls 1.2?

ie11 still recieves security updates, but ms doesn't want you to use it for some reason.
some of the pcs at my work still use windows 8.1 with ie, as both will be supported until 2023 iirc
There is no IE after IE6
What about 7 and 8? i thought those browsers were decent for their time.
>>4 MS is rewriting all their web 'services' in modern js webshit so they push Edge, also for PR reasons (webshit devs hate IE)
>>6 Not really, these had laggy and buggy UI (esp. 7) and were no longer for low-resource systems as IE6 was, and if you already had a more powerful PC, other browsers were superior
>these had laggy and buggy UI (esp. 7) and were no longer for low-resource systems as IE6 was, and if you already had a more powerful PC, other browsers were superior
Well that kind of explains why a lot of people were still using IE6 even as late as 2010.

I am afraid that was only a minor influence, if at all (especially back then people installed the latest most bloated crap on anything all the time - "HELP I installed linux on my old pII and firefox runs slow, I have heard linux is fast???")
More influential were probably these two things: 1) Ms decided against availability on earlier windows versions 2) if on xp, to get these from windows update, you had to pass legality check

Do you not remember the second browser wars between Firefox and IE?
ah yes, remember when Firefox was good?

This. People only liked it because back in '08 it was an actually decent competitor to IE. These days it's nothing more than a relic of the WebKit craze and even non-shitty forks like IceCat still pale in comparison to Chromium.
Ok i will agree with you on that. From what i remember during the second browser war people started to drop IE after the early 2000s and were starting to use different browsers like Firefox and Safari. However a large portion of people continued to use IE especially IE 6 even as late as 2010. It wasn't until after Chrome came out that everyone jumped ship from IE.

I don't know what you're talking about. Firefox was never based on WebKit. Firefox users were former Netscape users.

Firefox was amazing, but then those faggots killed its extenshions apis and stole chrome one. It killed most of my addons, I never completely recovered from that. It is impossible to save files with new api, which makes web scrapping much much harder. I bet people in charge were paid by google to sabotage the browser, adblock and such was a pain in the butt for them for a long time. Also fuck faggots, they made previous seo of firefox quit.
Palemoon is ok, but vids aren't playing in it well, also default look is very shit and it needs a lot of tinkering to not suck.
Waterfox doesn't have 32bit version, and api works slightly differently.
Brave is impossible to install offline, fuck this garbage.
