I was an avid poster on /rail/ and /f/ almost two decades ago before now. Eventually that lead into a bigger IB addiction, and I took a liking to this site's hobbyist boards like /tv/, /anime/ and of course /dqn/. I stayed for DQN shenanigans, and made it tradition to check up on the boards, but I've noticed a change in the userbase here in recent years. I can tell it's much more active, and the slang that's used on a lot of the general boards is different. But enough about my experiences, what are yours?
Years after becoming aware of the 4chan textboards but somehow never checking them out, I stumbled across https://wiki.bibanon.org/Neurotypical_idiots which led me to (RIP) Progrider, SAoVQ and eventually this place.
Can't really say much history-wise, I only really started paying attention to the things being posted in the last 3 or so years...
Somehow I made my way to w2ch. I found this place not long afterwards.
I think it was either when the DQN really-long-song Title was released and posted on sovietrussia dot org, or someone posted the Yoshinoya rant and it set my heart aflame so I looked it up
allchans for me too
4/qa/ before it became wojak central.
nostalgia thread on 4/v/. I think someone was talking about textboards or BBS' or whatever, and someone shared a link. Ain't that complicated.
Somebody was spamming shortlived imageboards, and one of them was a textboard, ganbatte or something. Somebody linked 4-ch there, and now I'm here.
Allchans maybe? Or maybe from one of those imageboard lists. I like textboards quite a bit.
Back when 4chan died for a few months in its earliest days, I was one of the iichan refugees and never went back. Eventually the original iichan died too and was replaced by the WAKAchan network. The 4-ch boards were linked from the WAKAchan sidebar and that's how I started posting here.
That was about 17 years ago. I haven't visited the site continuously ever since, but thought I drift away for a few years now and then, I always come back.

I wish this guy would make the list clickable links.

Not much of a point to it, since most of them are dead now!!!
I found it through googling, not sure what I even googled. I thought it was a spam site at first because of the god awful landing screen at http://4-ch.net
I was reading through 0037's wiki and found it referenced there. I don't remember how I got to that wiki though.
Huh, come to think of it I cannot remember. Probably found it when I was searching around for various BBSes, forums, text and image boards to check out.
I "discovered" this place just now with a simple search-engine search. Literally, "list of textboards" and I found some useful links.
I've been here before as I've known about textboards for some years now but this is the first time I've come here with intent to stay so I'll say this is my first time truly coming here as I was chronically of the erroneous opinion that textboards are the inferior experience, like radio to TV. My first time snooping here must have been years ago. I cannot recall it. Someone on 4Chan or Wizardchan must have mentioned textboards and I looked around out of curiosity, probably. Somewhere in the early to mid 2010s would be a good guess as to when my actual first visit was.
just searching textboards & imageboards on duckduckgo
