Hello 4-ch. I have visited this website many times before. Although this my first post. There was a previous controversy about my presence here but I hope that does not carry over to this thread.
I wanted to show everyone here my textboard software, Kokonotsuba, or 9-leaves, which is named after 9channel. Anyway, on an english hideout for 9channel, I have created a kokonotsuba board, and attempted the best to emulate 5ch, not 2ch. 5ch specifically. This includes there type of style.
I also tried to emulate 2nn.jp, which is part of 5ch. You can see it here: https://kolyma.org/news/ - this is works the same was as 2nn.jp, im very proud of its existance.
The boards features are very advanced, and some are one-of-a-kind for textboards.

What do you think about this? About style, implementation, and others. The site has a small userbase comprised of english users of the original website, but I hope to someday continue expanding it, and perhaps advertising it on my friends website, which name is gurochan, its one of the largest imageboards in the world.
As a sidenote, I am excited that this year I will lease this software to a turkish friend of mine who launches a turkish BBS system thats also similar to 2ch, and capitalize on the lack of 2ch textboards (there are none), and perhaps become something big of the emerging economy.

I think there should be more foreign txtboards that aren't Chinese, Korean or Japanese, but general discussion English internet boards just don't have any use. English speakers, and definitely 90% of Americans with internet access, use forums and social media. Imageboards and the lesser known "txtchans" only carry one type of user, and that is people aware of 4chan, that believe every imageboard should be filled with memes and 4chan lingo. Sageru exists because of the community, SAoVQ as well. 4-ch is basically carried by DQN alone, every other board is dead or filled with wordy metaposts like the one you're reading right now. You recently brought back gurochan, and that site does have a purpose, and that purpose is to provide a space for teenagers too angsty for reddit, and 60 year old cannibals that don't know how to use underground internet services. Stick to making chans for fetishists that seek refuge after getting banned off of /h/ and /aco/, because the txtboard industry doesn't need another site.

4-ch seemed that its stagnate, and sageru is just not it. But also that there is no advancements in terms of technology, and the userbase stay the same for 15 years, it becomes stale. There is appeal for people. Plus.. there is not any in turkey. There is uniqueness here that isnt just not another kareha board with no meaning.

Its that its necessary that someday a textboard community must be brought to audience thats wider than just the original club.. or others.
So this is a way, innovation can happen that will make things better, as well as bring it to new country where its not ever been. Thats turkey. The primary audience. I think also there is looks-choice, this should be "the subdomain.website.com". This provides flavor, also, there is no developments to 4-ch over the past few years in terms of functionality. Recently most feature on kokonotsuba was the auto-updater, which was made from scratch.

This softwares original (self-created) features is (but not all): API, User-controlled settings such as IDs or Hostname display (never on western bbs), even revolutionary "tripcode email" feature, where tripcode-based authentication can be used for an in-board email. This is revolutionary, many other things. I just want to emphasize that this is mostly original software. We forked pixmicat because its is module system makes constructing things easier. We have created several new modules. The textboard and javascript is also home-made. This includes the detailed settings menu and inline quoter, updater, and others.

All I'll say is you're an extremely optimistic thinker if you believe a fresh BBS with tons of new users is gonna pop up out of thin air because you bought a cheap domain. Also those "prejudices" about you are going to haunt you and your site. I don't know if you pay much attention to the imageboard scene, but every new site (that usually gets advertised here) has some Discord/IRC drama attached to it, and it never goes away. There's also been rumors that a lot of new imageboards that seemingly come out of nowhere datamine clueless people that see the URL advertised on well-known boards. How do you think this site will find its users? Are you banking on userbases from your older sites, like heyuri or 9channel?

I will add boards like this to these sites. Not create a whole new site. As for the turkish website, my turkish friend says he has lots of ideas, and that is mostly out of my way anyways, as I will just host and provide the software.

No, the board is used for to replace a pre-existing software, not to start a new site. However I will be leasing it to an upcoming turkish website, thats just not my management and now what the thread is about

I wish this motherfucker never bought gurochan, now its rep is tarnished and half of its userbase split off into shitcord servers or reddit. It's sad because despite his name being attached to the site, it has less censorship than the previous iteration. And the software bugs are bearable. Too many communities have been broken. I myself have wanted to create a specific imageboard, unattached to any of the other spinoffs, but thanks to owners like Patch or Kuz, people are paranoid about datafarming and won't give new boards the light of day. And then there's also competitor imageboard owners attacking new sites by spamming CP + reporting the board to the FBI.

Who is patch? and how is it my fault that people make up weird rumors about datamining? Though thats not specific to me.. that happens alot.
I never bought gurochan, by the way. or any other websites, thats a vapid and dumb thing to do, and its a stupid rumor. I didnt buy heyuri either, the old administrator hired me and when he got tired he gave it to me. He still works there to this day. After I was done setting gurochan up, I gave it to someone who actually enjoyed guro. I only had the interest to restore its goodness, but some people cant see light in good things...
The reputation of gurochan isnt so bad, except on reddit. But gurochan is still going well. I too am sorry about the attacks that were happened, but we cant undo, only fix.

I disagree with this, changing the tech would do nothing to change this site. All that matters for all boards online is community. There is nothing you could add to this bbs to make it better. It's a text board. It has text. What more could you want? Everything else is up to the users. Imageboards don't need anything fancy either. It can post images and videos? Good to go! Community is 99%, and sometimes new features can be a disadvantage too. One example is auto-update which incentivizes people to stay in threads and chat instead of coming back a few hours later and making high effort posts. Of course some users would like to just chat though, so auto-update can be good for more casual funposting boards like that.

Well, even 4-ch has features. It has this link-quote feature, and threads, and ID's, tripcodes, those all features that are more than just text but improve the quality of the board. Those users would be less in ease without them. 4-ch introduced some inovations with the mobile.pl script, thats a feature!

This is an instance where it makes sense. A Heyuri captcha would make no sense if it was to be used on dozens of other sites (like it will be), since it is a outside service that is added in to other services. Putting a captcha that has the letter K on it is no more "shoving kolyma brand everywhere" than the fact that the name of the software is kokonotsuba (9-leaves). Its nitpicking.

Someone from this site recently made a "annoyed post" on ayashii.net, where they accused me of being a spammer and psychopath, and someone who buys up sites for datamining. It seems that the opinions are echoed in this thread. But I have to beg, would someone please tell me why they think this way? For Kolyma, I actually have a great dream, of self-reliance. This is where we have built everything our own, and are soon launching great new projects. An alternative who does not stray into dangerousness or carelessness.
I hoped greatly that the users of channel4 would be excited to watch in my advancements, at least even if they ignored the parts they dont like, such as features they deem unecessary. I completely do understand your point. In 99 out of 100 times, its true. However it isnt always true. Heyuri, which people sometimes mistake to be for the purpose of "recapturing old feeling", actually is very successful in terms of original content and fun. It is the most creative non-4chan board I ever been to. Someone maintains a gallery of heyuri creations here, https://2ch.sh/user/heyuri/, and it is still just a fraction. I dont particularly like desu spam or other similar old memes, a new creations are more fun. Heyuri's 3rd birthday will be coming soon. So this should all show that what you say is not true in 100% of cases.

Kolyma is now a great success, I have finished recently several huge projects to fund the future, and to cultivate a new population to inherit them. Everything is going according to the plans, peacefully and without any trouble so far.
My intent here wasnt to advertise, just to recieve some constructive criticisms for my work, but the groups here are tainted and stupid, too stuck in the mud to see what great progress I'm making and will keep on making.
