Let's talk about them! Less boring than just refreshing dead website, right?
Payment processors being a giant pain in the ass to deal with is probably the main driving force behind the whole cryptocurrency thing. The biggest worldwide one is paypal. Most internet (con)artists use that, or patreon (which is just paypal again but takes extra cut). They both are really picky about the content you draw and can ban you for life from your only source of income on a sneeze. There are alternatives to those two, but I don't remember their names.
Of course there are bank transactions too, but they are limited to your country usually. Also they are the main reason paypal behaves the way it does.
Bitcoin trades leave some sort of tail, history of where each coin came from. Monero doesn't. Probably, I don't know.
Monetary flow is the blood of internet, without money everything is just boring empty talk. I wish I can take 1$ instead of just an empty "thank you". On the other hand money bring their own problems. It's the situation where you choose between dead and actively hostile environment basically.
You seem to be talking specifically about people who use Paypal to get paid online for drawing pictures? Can't say I've ever had a bad experience with Paypal.

Errr if you say so
Entertainment is probably the only thing that matters to me, so this is the thing that pops in my mind first.

I hate paypal. Used to actually like the service. I used to sell random junk online (mostly bought and sold Magic cards) and paypal was my way of getting the money and turning it around to buy stuff off ebay that I wanted as well as commission artists to do art for me. Was also an easy way for family to drop me a few bucks now and then. I got out of the trading card market for a while and since that was the main thing I was using my Paypal for, I didn't receive any money or use it to make any purchases for about 6 months. Logged back in to make a purchase with the $20 balance I still had and was informed that now Paypal REQUIRES my SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER in order for me to use it's service. Um, excuse me, wtf. Sorry but no, I'm not giving my SSN to an ONLINE company that's already proven to be shady and untrustworthy. A company that is probably regularly targeted by and vulnerable to hackers.
