Does anyone else literally live online? I think that I spend an average of 19 hours a day online.
Yes. Can't help it, I'm a hiki.
I do cocaine, but I think you're talking about something completely different. I'm not sure, as I am currently doing cocaine.
Yes...outside of work, internet is all I do, aside from manga, anime, and video games....(embarrass)
i don't do anything but be on the computer and do chores really :/
>>5 I don't even do chores..I only leave the computer to take a shit, and then I get back.
Yes, I'll do something else for one hour or two every few weeks though.
it's the only place to find this:

so that is where i will be.
hosana praise rang dipkin
I spend all my time for the last decade on the computer. Sometimes I'll play my DS or PSP though, but either way I'm still glued to the front of a screen.
I would be a net addict if I actually had internet. I live too far in the woods for anyone to serve internet to my home. And I'm to poor to move. I have to steal internet from friends houses.
I spend most of my waking hours in front of my computer, so, yes.
Today my phone line went dead for a while. (no ADSL)
I discovered I'm a very impatient person.

The last time my internet went out I got stoned and fell asleep out of sheer boredom.
We're such a lovely bunch!
I feel the happiest when I am online. I feel at home.
>>16
I'm always online - even when I'm sleeping!
When I die I hope to be materialized inside the internet.
>>18
I did too, now I really don't. You'd get tired of being out and about on your own without any human contact, so I much rather enjoy death's eternal slumber.
I say this but I average 18 hours, daily.
since 7 years I'm online 16-20 hours daily
I kinda wanna be absorbed by the internet so I can stay here forever
Do you guys think we'll be able to and live in the cyberspace in a few hundred years?
I WANNA LIVE IN THE INTERNET
There won't be anywhere to live in there, at that point.
>>22
Few hundred years is too much. I want my virtual reality now so that i can say goodbye to material world and literally start living in the internet.
Thread's great.
Even as a student I am online about 14 hours a day.
Anyone else see Transcendent Man? He figures we will be able to live in the internet in this lifetime.
>>29
Oh God, don't tease me like that!
For real?
I spend a vast majority of my time on the internet, but occasionally I'll get bored and watch anime/read novels.
I never leave my computer.
yeah pretty much. don't even know what to visit anymore. i usually go to the same sites over and over and over.
I think it's actually pretty normal for the younger generations to spend so much time online, even if they do have obligations. To me, it seems like everyone's on their phone all the time, even while working or schooling.
What concerns me is that social media is a lot less fulfilling than social interaction, and it doesn't really count as private time, because social media hardly counts as a hobby. So what we have is a generation of people that are unhappy because of self-induced alienation and no real aim in life because none of their attention goes into their private life.
I've noticed that more and more people seem to be glorifying introversion and the dichotomy between introversion and extroversion, and, ignoring the fact that this is pop psychology and a psychoanalyst might wince to hear someone talk about this, I don't think any of these people practice enough introspection to qualify as introverts. They're just shallow and antisocial.
yeah I agree with 37
thanks 37, now i have yet another thing to question about myself as i slink deeper into my own head
I spend most of my time online. Twitter, IRC, the #chans, and ebooks keep me pretty well entertained. Talking to people on Skype and Steam and the ilk is fun, too.
What makes the internet less valid a form of interaction than meatspace? At the end, it's all about the exchange of information. The internet simply allows people to exchange information rapidly and at great distances.
I live online, because I'm severely addicted to using the internet. And it's a terrible addiction to have. Don't get me wrong, the internet is fun and interesting. But the problem is that I hardly do anything else in my free time. I used to watch a lot of anime and play video games and yes, even hang out with a friend of mine from time to time. Now I have to force myself to do these things and more often than not, the enjoyment I receive from these activities is limited at best. Even online I wouldn't really do much besides F5ing the boards I frequent or watching stupid YouTube or Nico Douga videos.

I think what >>37 was getting at is that there isn't the same kind of emotional experience on the internet as there is in interacting with people face to face.
