This season I'm watching:
- Occultic;Nine
- Flip Flappers
- Keijo
- Shuumatsu no Izetta

Occultic is really fun so far, I like the fast-paced mystery and demon stuff that's going on. Of course, Ryo-tas is a delightful and dumb titty monster beyond belief, but she's cute.
Flip Flappers is great, very well animated and very cute. Papika's an adorable dummy. Pure Illusion and the fight scenes are cool.
Keijo is what it is: a show where women fight with their butts.
I haven't started Izetta yet, but I heard it's quite nice.

So, what are you watching?

Admittedly I'm still getting caught up on the classics. I started Cowboy Bebop and it's really great so far. Sorry if you were more interested in talking about things this season.

That's fine. I watched Bebop years ago and, admittedly, the show as a whole never stuck with me. I'm normally not too big on episodic shows unless I'm watching them as they come out. I should give it another go sometime.

I haven't watched a ton of anime but something about the characters and setting is really neat to me. I feel like it stands out against a lot of shows that try to be way brighter I guess? It's hard to explain, maybe I'll be able to articulate a little better once I watch more.

You should check out Outlaw Star afterwards. It's a pretty similar show.

All good selectionn.

Flip Flappers is probably top of the season for me, it's refreshing to see visually loaded, ballsy abstract anime, so out of the line from the usual cookiecutter moeblob. Although the main plot thread could use less obscurity in favor of more sophistication, everything else about this anime is so ridiculously good I can't really fault it.

As for my current watchlist:

Little Witch Academia - we expected Harry Potter anime adaption, and we're getting a really good one. The only fault is that the plot is kind of less than original...

Gi(a)rlish Number - Akira Kogami from Lucky Star got her own slice of life anime, and it's awesome exactly as it sounds.

Some older series I started from my backlog:

Sekai Seifuku: Bouryaku no Zvezda - the feel is almost as cute-colorful like that of Flip Flappers, but unfortunately this show is far more childish - no serious attempt at consistent plot to the point it's not marathonable. Yet still, unique enough to prevent me from dropping.

Arakawa Under the Bridge - I've been recommended this as the closest relative of phenomenal Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita. It lacks the strong female lead, but otherwise the visuals and absurdist writing are a close fit.

Maybe find/start a thread exclusively for the classics? Most people agree about the first 20 ones or so, but past that it gets rather quarrelsome.

for a chat the interval between messages is pretty fucking vast, oh well, I, Andre Arstro, shall enlighten this dying board.

I was rewatching naruto recently, it gave back nice memories, even some fillers are now funny to me, I used to hate them before.

Hunter ROBIN, pretty nice anime.

Pawn Stars, amazing anime, the characters are very unique and there is a lot of deep meaning in the plot. Especially the nicknames of characters and short simple characters you can relate to.

I've been trying to catch up with anything decent that might've come out since 2020.

Right now I am halfway through Sonny Boy. It's absolutely amazing so far. Very confusing, but that only prompts you to pay more attention and actually engage with it. As long as they won't screw up the ending, this will probably turn out to be one of my favorite anime shows of all time.

Not sure if it counts here or not, but I have been watching Cyberpunk Edgerunners. I have two episodes left to watch. I like it so far, but I feel like it should have been more of a Western animation instead of an anime. Part of me feels like it's more considered that since it's a "Netflix Anime Series".
