I would love to have programs that have only been released in Japan, for example, a text editor that has only been released in Japan or things like that, put them here

Japan fucking sucks with computing and software. If you want something "weebish" just fuck around with PC-98 stuff or anything else by NEC from the past.

Plamo Linux is a Japanese distribution based on Slackware. That may be something you'd be interested in.

サクラエディタ
https://sakura-editor.github.io/
japanese text editor. Has some japan specific functions that other text editors lack. Pretty fast. People that write era games often use it.

miku miku dance -- 3d dance editor

aviutl -- video editor

not sure what they use for yukkuri voices. You know, look at credits in any japanese video, they often credit the software they use.

American programs seem to milk consumers to use the latest hardware at all times, while japanese ones are slightly more outdated and target not extremely expensive hardware that people can actually afford. If anything, it's americans that can't program for shit and use slow hipster languages like python or ruby or java or c# for every sneeze.

Any visual novels from pre-2010 will scratch this itch. The best ones are written in NScripter, because you can easily edit, port and translate them using ONScripter-EN

What's your favorite Visual Novel?

not him, but I liked 腐り姫 ~euthanasia~ and 二重影 quite a bit, among those pre 2010. To be more specific, 2004 is when a lot of those went to shit.

I can't possibly remember, or even write, names of most of them.
