That's not a solution I really like. I'm not sure why saged posts don't have an id, makes them quite meaningless.
Id have 2 functions, (1) is for convenience of not having to tell "I'm not him" all the time, and (2) so that you can block people you don't like, at least for a day, so that you need at least 30 people working together to properly shit up a thread rather than just one. But if somebody starts shitting up a thread while posting with sage, you will have to block all saged posts, you actively encourage for people to not sage in this case.
Of course I'm talking about very large forums that are barely moderated, this dead forum with 10 posts a day doesn't have to bother with any of that, it's very easy to moderate, you can just cry in /req/ whenever somebody starts shitposting.
There is a balance between protecting user's privacy and stopping them from abusing such privacy. Different boards have different approaches for that. Some futaba boards actually show last (or first?) 2 digits of an ip address, which I guess discourages lots of both bad and good posters from posting.
It's been this way since 2004, might as well learn to live with it.

IDs are needed for really big sites that can't be moderated properly due to the amount of messages that goes through them.
I guess I'm fine with this site being dead. A sort of museum rather than actual forum. Being alive brings a different set of problems.
You certainly don't value your time if you waste your time blocking people or creating filter lists. The time you spend to block or create filters is a waste when you could simply get off the computer and do something more productive.
Blocking people will never work because there will always be someone you don't like. Filters will always have to be updated because people can get crafty and smart and bypass.
