Is the spam filter a bit too excessive? I've never been hit with it but noticed a thread disappear before my eyes recently.

The other day I noticed a thread disappear from /personal/ about "Crazy Pussy Woes", a long winded relationship-troubles style post - it was gone before I could reply. I don't think there's any way to delete created threads except via mod activity, so I put it down to a spam filter or something.
