I really like the text generation AIs. I've been toying around with https://chat.openai.com/chat for an entire day and it's been really fun. It's not perfect, of course, but it certainly has its uses.
I made up a fictional fantasy setting and had it write a story for me in that setting. I also fed it some characters I had in mind for a while, and it gave me tips on how to improve them, alternative names for them to better suit their personalities and even a basic outline for a story.
It's also fun having it write passages in certain styles. I asked it to write a 1950's noir fiction monologue from the perspective of an anime dweeb trying to buy a Miku figurine at a local convention, and it delivered.
On the other hand, it's pretty scary. The fact it can be as flexible as you ask to be means you can ask it to write a "casual forum post" about something and it is nearly indistinguishable from the real deal (minus all the swearing). I wonder how many AIs are already "posting" all over social media sites?
Anyway yeah. Go try it out. Really fun.
Yeah, I tried it, got "unavailable in your country". Got it AFTER i registered there. Assholes.
I like playing fake text adventure games with text generation AIs. They tend to forget minor details but are generally very good at responding to interesting choices and fleshing out a story. I had great fun in my last journey studying as a Witch Apprentice and learning all sorts of magic rituals (from shapeshifting to time travel).
Yeah. I had it write for me a detective story set in 1940's New York City. The murderer turned out to be the victim's wife, but she only did it because he was an abusive husband.
i used to be scared of chatgpt because it would solve simple programming problems easily but the longer you play with it you learn that it's pretty limited in its knowledge. we're going to make it!
I might start liking AI when it starts killing the sociopathic tech valley niggers that create it.
