Dear AA Bar - I am very worried that my system is set up incorrectly to view and create AA.

I am worried because, although I have Japanese unicode fonts installed on both my home and work computer, the AA looks different between the two.

It looks alright on both, but the spacing is changed slightly, sometimes noticeably between the two. So I'm worried that AA that I produce may look weird to someone else.

Is there any way to test whether my AA art setup is correct? =S

The font seems to be a little bit different from MSP Gothic of 12 point.
I might be able to advise you only on Win Japanese OS+ IE though I don't know your environment..
It is good if someone can be advised to you who can correctly see these AA on OS on English environment.

Basically the environment for 2ch s-jis AA is 12 point MS P Gothic.
In this case, the number of composition dots of vertical directions of one character is 16 dots.
A horizontal number of composition dots differs depending on the kind of the character and the sign,
and is composed from 3 to 16 dots. 　And it differs according to the font.
In the MSP Gothic of 12 points, as for the horizontal direction, all the Chinese character(Kanji), the Greek character,
and the Cyrillic alphabet are used. font of horizontal number 16 dots .
Therefore, the gap is caused because a horizontal number of dots is different when the font composition is different
from the 12point MSP Gothic .
The following are the one that the Chinese character(Kanji), the Hirakana, Katakana, alphabet, a Greek character,
and the Cyrillic alphabet were arranged in 12 point MSP Gothic.

Mind you 12pt is too small to read anyway. I use 16pt here, so I would need a way for this stuff to work at that size, not micropenis size.

true enough. I browse with my resolution set to 800x600 because I also don't have the eyesight of a healthy 20-year-old.

On the Mac, you can use the built-in zooming feature. Except I can't get Monafont to work on the Mac. And it seems its MS Gothic is slightly different.

I even installed MS's MS Gothic on the Mac and it didn't line up. I think it's actually because Mac does antialiasing differently and somehow the extra pixel here or there screws it over.

Just got Mona working though and the lines do line up on Mona, even at my default font size. Though not on the next size up...

I'm trying to use Mona font on Debian Linux with Iceweasel. I actually installed Mona Font and was able to select it for Serif, Sans Serif Monospace. Everything is being displayed in Mona Font. But looking at the test posted, I can tell it is still misaligned.

I can't select Mona for proportional. Is that the problem?

Yes, the P in MS PGothic stands for "proportional".
