Meh. Remember East Germany? They continually monitored their citizens, controlled the media 100%, and terrorized their people with a brutal secret police force. Even after all that effort, they couldn't stop a revolution. That's Orwell taken care of.

As for Huxley, I think the idea that the masses aren't paying attention is blown out of proportion. Super Bowl vs. State of the Union? Come on. Some of us prefer to read the full text online to avoid those long awkward pauses for applause. The Super Bowl is a live sport. Reading transcripts of football would be more brain dead than actually watching it.

Besides, we're discussing this openly aren't we? All like three of us... Yeah, Huxley maybe. Orwell, probably not.
