Eh, I'm a female and I try to pay for the dates my boyfriend and I go on. Does he let me? No. And when I say I don't want something he buys it anyway. I might say, "Ohhh, I want that!" but my boyfriend does the same thing. Doesn't mean I want him to buy it for me, because the instant he brings it up I'll try to stop him from doing so.

Then again, before getting into our relationship, I argued with my boyfriend and gave him reasons why he should seriously reconsider being with me. I have health needs that do need attention and because that's always on my mind and always a threat, that will probably be the only way I am selfish. But if it means living, I'll forsake the material goods anyday.
