Thanks, I went and got it for free. I read the story, went up and down the fret board a few times and now I know what notes I am playing. It works! The story is so wacky it has to work and I find myself laughing as I realize what note I am on.

However, it certainly does not give you the ability to play. You still have to know your scales and put in lots of practice. But even knowing scales, I have found myself getting lost on the fretboard many times. Especially when trying to move around too much. This tool will help to find the right note to start on wherever I am at on the fretboard.

So, his advertisement is very missleading in that he says you will be able to play any song you want and be able to know that you are playing the right notes. Knowing what notes you are playing does not make them right.

So I think it's a bit of a rip off if you pay the $30 for it. Then on the other hand I guess you have to look at it like you are buying the free guitar tab that he sends to you. Assuming he sends it and it is worth anything. I've seen a lot of bad guitar tab before.

Hope this helps someone.

You have to smile when you're playing in the key of Danny Deveto. And when you feel down you can play in the key of Fidel Castro.

Just downloaded F2F. I can't help thinking that this is a variation of the "magic number sequence". In this system, the scales were chopped into smaller pieces and given numbers. The numbers were in the form of a telephone number, which was easily remembered. The idea was that you just followed the numbers, it worked really well, still does I suppose.

The difference is, that F2F gives you letters instead, which I guess helps you learn the note names. Like some of you are saying, it doesn't make you a better player, only blood sweat and tears can do that. I believe that Steve Vai practices for 12 hours per day. Maybe that's the secret.

I don't think the technique sucks. It really helps remembering the notes very quickly by using that "imagination strategy" I've often heard about on TV. It is certainly more effective than trying to learn all the notes by heart.
But you must not make the mistake of thinking, once you've learnd all the notes, that you can play like Steve Vai or Eric Clapton. This is totally unrealistic. In fact this method only helps remembering the fretboard, it doesn't teach anything about technique or speed. Don't believe everything the guy writes on his page ("play any chord in any shape anywhere on the guitar neck in the speed of light" for example).

Pick a note a day.

Say, THE C# at the 2nd string, 2nd fret: 2/2 for short. Work out in your head where it is everywhere else on the guitar, that would be:

3/6, 4/11, 5/16 (6/21) - last in brackets, 'cos I have a classical.

As you visualise EACH location, ALSO visualise the note - 2nd space down from top line on musical stave - this'll also speed up learning the stave.

Do this whenever stuck in traffic, waiting in queues, whatever. End of that day, you'll know darned well EVERYWHERE where that note is.

Ditto next day - different note. There are about 3.5 octaves on the guitar = 3.5 X 12 different notes = 42 notes total (depends how many frets you have).

If you keep the above prescription up rigorously, in 42 days, or so, you'll know where ALL the notes on the guitar are.

So if you take it more leisurely, and it takes you 80 days? Big deal. ;-)

Probably the best darned guitar teacher in the World. ;-)

P.S: Anybody who sent their $30 off, should ask for it back, and send it to me. ;-)

Really man what were you thinking, to make a program to rip off gullible people?

"If you've ever wanted to pick up a guitar at a party and blow your friends away..."
Oh yeah sure, I'll go ask a guitar at the bar next time.

"...become very popular with everyone, especially the opposite sex!"
You should invent some love potion instead! Terpentine is not a potion.

Really people don't buy this motherabuser it's definatly not worth the money, I'd rather buy many picks with $30.

the whole thing is that he filled his page with a crap load of... crap ( :) ) and every beguiner guitarist got excited. so every 12yr old starts bothering his/hers parents to buy them the thing. => mike make money 4 free.. its just like me n my band. we put like... 0.30 $ per ticket to our concert and the whole highschool comes and we make like 50Ş bucks (in my country, romania, that is allot). the whole difference is that we can actually play :)

such a fuckin idiot... everybody can just download it for free.. the thing WAS DESIGNED FOR IDIOTS

it's a pc application. Seems like you can only run it on 32's not 64's.

Happy Happy Shitheads CEO's At Intel and AMD--got a lot of games and applications that i need to run on my old machine. Waste of space and clear old stupidty on your side; not making all the"old" stuff backward compatible.

Anyone got a solution so I don't have to run cirkles in HATE -mode

Thanx
