Only two are detected beforehand, and neither is intercepted in time - hence, every bomb detonates as intended.
The damage is cataclysmic. The population is decimated, and many more will die from radiation poisoning and possibly starvation; a significant proportion of agricultural produce has been rendered unusable.
Most military bases were situated away from major cities, so troops are still available to aid in recovery efforts and any future land battles. Note, however, that they greatly lack equipment and supplies.
Prevailing winds in western Russia are South and South West so radioactive fallout is drifting towards Andyland and northern Madagascartown. Prevailing winds in eastern Russia are East, blowing fallout into the Tundra and the Pacific ocean.
Espeonland still has all 10 nuclear bombs remaining; Madagascartown currently has none.
