I promise we make rule 2 (m)
>>3 has violated rule 8 by complimenting >>1 instead of >>2.
>>4 has violated rules 6, 7 and 8.
In accordance with rule 4, both posts shall be disregarded entirely.
I hereby make rule 9 immutable.
>>2 has good taste in shirts.
In accordance with rule 5, The current list of rules is:
>>4
Sorry, I'm on a mobile platform. I meant propose, not promise. Also forgot my number.
Proposed: Game ends on 999, rule 2 becomes (m)
I change a rule:
7. (m) If the number is greater than the previous poster's, they must mock/insult them.
to
7. (m) If the number (n) is greater than the previous poster's, they must grab the nearest available printed media and find the nth page, the nth line and the nth word. They must incorporate that word to insult the previous poster, without giving clear indication of which word was gathered from this rule.
>>7 is so handsome, women mistake him for Boris Karloff.
The sight of >>8 makes me want to throw up.
Easier word than I expected, considering I picked up a kanji dictionary. Thankfully page 3 was still the preface.
I hereby make rule 4 mutable, because I believe we need harsher punishments for those who break the rules.
>>9's parents never went to college.
I hereby revise rule 4 to: 4. (m) If a rule has been found to be violated in a post, the person(s) responsible for the post cannot play the game for four turns in a state of "probation." The statue of limitations for committing a crime is one turn: that is, in order to be placed into probation, the post directly beneath the offending move must state how the preceding poster broke the rules. If one or more turns have taken place since a player has committed a crime, then he cannot be found guilty.
It's awfully long. If someone would like to split the rule or make rules which explicitly define punishments or kinds of crimes, that would be appreciated. Without further ado, the rules:
>>10
I like the statute of limitations idea. You seem like a cunning fellow!
New rule:
11. (m) Newly added rules must not exceed 300 characters in length.
>>12 really changed the way I think about the world!
I change rule 8 to
"8. (m) Game ends when thread hits >>999. Every post number divisible by 30 is hereby appointed appointed "Judge." If a contradiction in the rules is called into question, the next Judge must rule on the case, and his or her interpretation will be law. Until the Judge rules, the rule with the lower number will take priority over the rule with the higher number."
Note that this is more than 300 characters, but Rule 11.(m) only applies to newly added rules, so my move is legal.
>>13's hair pleasantly reminds me of cinnamon cocoa on a quiet snowy morning.
>>14 violated the rules by complimenting the wrong poster. >>14 is now on probation for 4 turns.
I hereby add rule 12: "Each player starts with 10 DQNcoins. A player adds their number (n) to their total DQNcoins and posts how many coins they have."
Here are the current rules:
4a. (m) Posters who reference the wrong post within 3 minutes of the previous poster are exempt from rule 4.
5. (i) Posts ending in 5 or 0 must list all present rules (so we can keep track).
6. (m) With each post, the player must roll a six sided die and post the resultant number in their name field.
7. (m) If the number (n) is greater than the previous poster's, they must grab the nearest available printed media and find the nth page, the nth line and the nth word. They must incorporate that word to insult the previous poster, without giving clear indication of which word was gathered from this rule.
8. (m) If the number is less than or equal to the previous poster's, they must complement them.
9. (m) Game ends when thread hits >>999, more than 50 rules are created and/or a tautological stalemate between two immutable rules are made.
10. (m) Posts whose post number is a prime number must be written in E-Prime.
11. (m) Newly added rules must not exceed 300 characters in length.
12. (m) Each player starts with 10 DQNcoins. With each post a player adds their number (n) to their total DQNcoins and posts how many coins they have.
I now have 13 DQNcoins.
>>15's parents must have raised him to be a blabbering fool since he added a "rule 4a" into the list. Fortunately, rule 5 doesn't specify anything about unrelated fake rules mixed in along with the list of real rules, so it's not a violation. I'll forgive him since he's me. Let's just pretend that rule 4a was never written.
Anyway, I make rule 6 immutable.
I now have 19 DQNcoins.
>>17 is not-too-bright. He is actually pretty dumb.
I hereby change rule 4 as follows:
4. (m) If a rule has been found to be violated in a post, the person(s) responsible for the post cannot play the game for four turns in a state of "probation." only if caught by the next following poster. Any changes made by the offender are implemented the opposite way around. If this change is impossible then the changes must be ignored. The poster who caught the offender must announce the update.
Note: part (a) of rule 4 no longer exists.
I'm a proud owner of 14 DQNcoins.
14. (m) You get one DQNcoin for every rule you break.
I got 18 DQNcoins
>>19 is one hoopy frood!
I add rule 15:
I now have 14 DQNcoins.
>>21 seems to be a decent individual.
I edit rule n°4 to "Each post must be at least 10 minutes apart during daytime or 45 minutes apart during nighttime. Nighttime begins at 0000 UTC and finishes at 1000 UTC.
I now have 10 DQNcoins + 1 for breaking rule n°4.
>>22 is hideous like a piece of shit vomited by another piece of shit.
I amend rule 5 to: "Posts that violate rules may be entirely disregarded. The first poster to point out the violation may assign a punishment to the offending poster. Accusations can only be made within two posts of the offending post."
I now have 25 DQNcoins.
>>23 is a fucking disgrace.
He didn't post his number per rule 8. His post is to be disregarded as stated in his own rule. He gets only 1 DQNcoin for breaking one rule (to a total of 20?). His changes to rule 5 are reverted back to >>18:
If a rule has been found to be violated in a post, the person(s) responsible for the post cannot play the game for four turns in a state of "probation." only if caught by the next following poster. Any changes made by the offender are implemented the opposite way around. If this change is impossible then the changes must be ignored. The poster who caught the offender must announce the update.
On a side note: >>20 DIDN'T reflect changes to rules properly. He also switched order of rules around at his own will (e.g. rule 4 was rule 13, rule 5 was rule 4, rule 13 was rule 11, etc). Hopefully >>25 will revise this list.
Rule 2 is now mutable.
I now have 16 DQNcoins.
>>24 has good taste in computer games.
I hereby remove the former rule 12. (m) Posts whose post number is a prime number must be written in E-Prime. Nobody adhered to it anyway.
Note that I have also rearranged the rules somewhat.
I now have 24 DQNcoins.
>>25 is so tardy that his local library wasted all paper on printing return fines.
I change rule 2 to the following:
Rules marked as immutable (i) can be changed or removed at any time. Rules marked mutable (m) must be made immutable (i) before they can be modified or removed.
I now have 21 DQNcoins.
>>26-San is a very knowledgeable anime connoisseur.
I change rule 3 to say: All rules, when created, start as immutable. Mutability of a rule must be proposed by a poster under fusianasan and then condoned by three different posters with three different fusianasan strings.
>>27 is a savvy operator with a clear understanding of nomic politics.
However, he has violated the rules. >>27 failed to post his balance of DQNCoins in compliance with rule 11.(m). He or she is now under probation, as per rule 4.(m) and can not post for four turns.
I amend rule 6:
"6.(i) With each post, the player must roll a six sided die and post the resultant number in their name field. If the name field is occupied by fusianasan, a name, or a tripcode in order to comply with another rule, then the player must post the result of their dice roll at the top of their post instead."
I now have 14 DQNcoins. I would welcome any attempt to reinstate >>27's change.
>>28 fills landlubbers wit' loathin' 'n fear.
I add a new rule which ye ortin' ta know as rule 15 or "Natter like a seafarin' hearty" rule:
Every new rule best be written in pirate-speak. Only a scallywag speakin' like a buccanneer throughout his message may modify 'tis rule.
I now be havin' 23 DQNcoins.
>>29 is even more hideous than my friend Mark.
Note that, as he violated rule 11, >>27's rule change has not been instated.
Likewise, >>26's proposed rule change would be in direct violation of rule 3 and therefore cannot be instated.
This means that >>28's proposed amendment cannot be instated as it would violate rule 2.
I have taken it upon myself to make rule 2 immutable. I think we should keep the mutable/immutable mechanic as more or less axiomatic, for clarity if nothing else.
Rule 4 has been properly updated. See: http://4-ch.net/dqn/kareha.pl/1352997177/10.
I currently have 30 DQNcoins.
>>30 is so cute that every girl wants to cuddle with him.
I would like to argue that >>26's rules change doesn't break rule 3. However, under updated rule 2 any new rules are created non-modifiable as a consequence of rule 3. Also rule 2 protected itself from immediate changes after its update.
By the way, there is no rule that forbids conflicting rules unless poster gets caught by the next posters.
Therefore rule 2 in its current state should be:
2. (i) Rules marked as immutable (i) can be changed or removed at any time. Rules marked mutable (m) must be made immutable (i) before they can be modified or removed.
Note: Because it was marked as (i) by >>30 anyone can change it.
Changes to rule 6 are valid as well:
6. (i) With each post, the player must roll a six sided die and post the resultant number in their name field. If the name field is occupied by fusianasan, a name, or a tripcode in order to comply with another rule, then the player must post the result of their dice roll at the top of their post instead.
I add rule 16:
If ye, barnacle-bitten landlubber, be wishin' fer more DQNdoubloons ye be makin' another die roll an' be addin' it t' yer stash as well.
I have 27 DQNcoins.
>>31 k, whatever you say, IDIOT.
The above poster's idiocy aside, I believe he's correct about my previous change to rule 6, and >>26's change to rule 2.
While Rule 2 is immutable (changeable under the current rule set), I'm going to fix this mess and also add a little something else.
Rule 2 is now:
"2.(i) Rules marked (i) are immutable. They must be made mutable (m) before they can be modified or removed. Changing the mutability status of a rule costs 50 DQNCoins."
I have 23 DQNCoins. (+4 bonus roll as per rule 16)
>>32 is more beautiful than a potato chip in the eyes of a starving man.
Rule 17:
If ye be a scallywag clev'r 'nuff t' break a rule with nery a soul takin' notice in the next 5 posts, ye may double yer stash o' DQNdoubloons.
I have 22+1+6 bonus = 29 DQNcoins.
>>33 is an asstits
I add rule 18:
Yarr, upon th'next an' erry scribin' o the whole list, 'erry sec'nd word ought be removed, an' erry law ought be followed as it be scribed.
I have 15 DQNcoins
>>34 has lovely, soft hair that just begs to be lovingly caressed.
As all of the rules are now uninterpretable Engrish, I can go ahead and add a rule without consequence. I hereby add rule 19: "Every origami 35 gorilla posts, umbrella the hydroponic set watermelon of radio rules polynomial resets gardener to secret those understandable in manatee >>1. Shanghai this hive includes yellow the stellar removal bird of lavender this leather rule. Banana one's banana cache banana of banana DQNcoins banana is banana not banana reset banana."
The current set of rules reads:
I currently have 33 DQNcoins.
>>35 is just going to keep us going in an interminable loop forever, that dick.
I add a new rule.
10. (m) With each post, the player gains DQNcoins equal to their die roll plus log base 2 of their post number rounded to the nearest ones place.
I currently have 24 DQNcoins.
(14 + 5 + 5)
Commentary:
Handy tool: http://www.miniwebtool.com/log-base-2-calculator/
Someone should add some method for spending DQNcoins.
>>37 violated rules 6, 7, 8 and 10, so according to rule 4, I can disregard them entirely. As they did not post a die roll number, I don't have to insult/compliment them either.
I currently have 33 + 4 + 5 = 42 DQNcoins.
I hereby add a new rule:
11. (m) The player who makes post number >>37 wins the game. This does not, of itself, peacefully end the game or thread.
>>38 smells sweet as a coconut.
I have 36 DQNcoins. (29+2+5)
New rule:
12. (m) Players may offer to trade DQNcoins for a request. The first player to fill the request gets that amount of DQNcoins, plus a 5 DQNcoin bonus.
I will give 10 DQNcoins to whoever draws a cute picture and posts a link to it.
>>40 is a cockass.
I now have 0 + 2 + log2(41) = 7.3575... DQNCoins, which rounded to the nearest digit becomes a stockpile of 7 DQNCoins
I have made rule 4 mutable.
>>42 is cunning and clever.
DQNcoins: 36 - 10 + 3 + lg(42) = 34
I changed rule 13 because the more DQNcoins, the merrier!
>>43 is a big dummy who forgot to refresh before hitting submit.
Disregarding >>43 since he did not follow the rule in >>42. My DQNCoin total is now 7 + 4 + 5.4594, which rounds to 16, which I'll give to >>42, giving me a total of 0 and him a total of 24.39, rounded down to 24.
1 (i) With each post, the player adds, removes, changes or makes immutable or mutable one rule.
2 (i) Rules marked (i) are immutable. They must be made mutable (m) before they can be modified or removed.
3 (i) Newly created rules are mutable (m). They can only be made immutable (i) by someone else.

5 (m) Every post must list all present rules with changes/new rules written in bold.
6 (m) With each post, the player must roll a six sided die and post the resultant number in their name field.
7 (m) If the number is greater than the previous poster's, they must mock/insult them.
8 (m) If the number is less than or equal to the previous poster's, they must complement them.
9 (m) Game ends when somebody loses an eye.
10 (m) With each post, the player gains DQNcoins equal to their die roll plus log base 2 of their post number rounded to the nearest ones place.
11 (m) The player who makes post number >>37 wins the game. This does not, of itself, peacefully end the game or thread.
12 (m) Players may offer to trade DQNcoins for a request. The first player to fill the request gets that amount of DQNcoins, plus a 5 DQNcoin bonus.
13 (m)You must give >>42 all your DQNcoins and state so in your post.
I changed rule 4, which was made mutable earlier.
I DO NOT cede to >>42 my DQNcoins.
I DO NOT bold the changes contained herein.

13 (m) You must give >>42 all your DQNcoins and state so in your post.
14 (m) Prime numbered posts must contain the phrase "Clonepa crap ass"
I give myself 100,000 DQNcoins. Further, I'm amending all the rules as follows:
1 (i) There's no winner here except >>45
2 (i) >>45 is the recipient of every DQNcoin ever made throughout the universe.
3 (i) All DQNs are equal. Except >>45, he's more equal than the rest.
4 (i) No new rules may be added
5 (i) None of the existing rules may be modified
6 (i) Posts which violate any existing rules must be disregarded
As per rule 4, this is now the law of the land.
The current rules forbid adding or modifying rules, but say nothing about deleting rules. I hereby delete all the rules. The current list of rules is:
There was a game here. It is gone now.
I add a rule.
1 (m) No deleting rules.
I modify a rule, and add a new one, because I can do that.
goof butts

I changed rule 10 because I'm tired of digging down in the thread for the log calculator that one DQN posted and I'm not good at maths.
Unfortunately for >>65, rule 10 cannot be changed until somebody makes it mutable. It was made immutable in >>54.
You can also use google to calculate log base 2, just type lg(x).
