Great OST. I hope Nakano gets a shot at maining an RPG again.
I swear I've heard this track before. I think it was the BGM of an [adult swim] bumper. Has anyone else heard this before?
Captain Obvious - Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

"boomerness", what, that's millennial nostalgia. Also you don't belong here
>>206
What the original poster referred to as "boomerness" (in the context of the "30 y.o. boomer" meme) and you referred to as "millenial" both mean the so-called generation Y, people born in the 80s and 90s, the dawn of the information overload age. The song was released in 1996, fitting the Gen Y teenage period, and the meme in itself is ironic, as people born in the 80s were the children of the actual baby boomers.
Some good stuff I've been blasting the past few days, drowning out my neighbours fighting/fucking/fighting/fucking/fighting/fucking/whooping/hooting/hollering while I'm working from home:

>>210 "Baby boomer" originally meant people born in the post-war baby boom of the 20th century and are now in their 50s-70s. More recently "boomer" has come back as a popular term but applied to people aged around 30, the joke being they are very old (but not actually from the baby boomer generation). I get the feeling some people still use "boomer" more like in its original sense and miss the joke though.
>>212 23 and I got called a boomer on tumblr last year and thought it was hilarious!

>>241 Do you think we would have music like this today without Lil B?
It reminds me a bit of that classic track DRAGONASSTATTOO
>>242
I thought it about it for a bit and i'm gonna say yes
I do see a connection there but im pretty sure open mike has been rapping longer than lil b and their styles are very different. Open mike is all lyricism, obliquely made points, emotional nuance, nerdy pop culture references; lil b has none of that. I don't hate lil b but he isn't the first mc to be humorous either
Also, east asian cultural references in hiphop goes back at least to the wu-tang clan, and LA has had an experimental scene for a long time. Like yeah you could say well the wu-tang weren't NERDS but i think the internet made everyone nerdy
I'm gettin' older, I don't lie.
I do not feel the age. I've got my wisdom, my faith; I'm a sage.
Life is a stage, we play our parts, but in my life I stay young at heart.
I've been up, down and around. I'm not from this part of town.
I've come from the hood of child, their youthful antics are from the wild.
It is a miracle to keep that mood, when getting older's got you brood.
I'm living my life in this later age, I am a bit of a sage, but my youth keeps me wild and alive.
Gotta stay young, because it's all Ride or Die.
h
>>243 I've been listening to more of Open Mike and I see what you mean, I never suggested Lil B was first to be funny or nerdy though. More just his flow sounded familiar.
>obliquely made points, emotional nuance, nerdy pop culture references; lil b has none of that
I totally do hear that in some of Lil B's music!
